I had gastric bypass surgery 6 days ago. I feel like I am getting short of breath without doing much. I checked my pulse oximeter and it was good 98 - 99. I am just wondering if this is normal after the surgery or something I should go to the hospital about. Thanks

If you are having trouble breathing, I would go. Your pulse is considered high, but mine has been like that and higher since the surgery but they checked everything about my heart and I was fine. So it's up to you. Call your dr and see what they say.
Thanks my pulse was actually 84 resting and my oxygen to my lungs was 98%. I am just feeling kinda winded if I walk to much that is really what I am wondering about if it is normal or not. Did you get winded fast right after surgery?

I was thinking the same thing Christine is thinking. I wouldn't even call my doctor. I would go straight to the ER. Shortness of breath after surgery could be a pulmonary embolism...these are not good. I would check it ASAP.
Hi everyone, Thanks for the advice. I went to the ER last night. They did a cat scan, EKG, and some blood work and everything came out good. I feeled alot more relieved now. Thanks again
