Eddie's Surgery

After driving through 70 miles of zero visibility snow, we arrived here at 6a.m.. this morning.  We  were almost run off the road so many times I really thought we were going to die.  As soon as we hit the WI border the rain turned to snow and all he#$ broke loose.  It took  2 1/2 hours to go that 70 miles.  The surgery went smoother-the kdney did comeout- it had many more lesions than  were visible on CT scan and the pathology done today shows it is a more virile type than from other studies so it would have turned ugly in a few months left alone. He is still out like a light and I am going to go get our bags and try to get some sleep before he gets woken up for dialysis and other goodies tomorrow.  Thank you all for the prayers and warm wishes-they are very much appreciated-Huge hugs-Janet

Hello

I'm glad everything but the driving seemed to go smoothly.  So what happens from here???  He goes on dialysis, can he do this closer to home or does he have to drive out to that hospital?  How often does he have to do dialysis?  I know you mentioned the transplant list before...he will go on the transplant list and then wait for the call.  As you can tell with all these questions I have no knowledge of these things.

And as always you both will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Janet.

Well wishes and prayers for you and Eddie both!

It sounds like Eddie will have dialysis until a donor kidney is found. I pray that this does not take too long!

The roads were definitely slick and hazardous. Thank goodness that you both were OK.

God bless you and Eddie.

Get some much needed rest and keep us posted on you and Eddie.

Hugs and Love,
Lucy

Thank you Janet for the update. My thoughts are with both of you. I am sorry you had such a bad time driving  up there and I hope the roads are clear when you are able to bring him home.

I am also keeping my fingers crossed tha a donor kudney can be found quickly. It would be so much easier on both of you.

It is a great thing that they got to the surgery when they did.

Love ya,

LISA

Hi Janet,

Thoughts and prayers are with Eddie and you.  Hope he gets a new kidney and doesn't have to be on dialysis too long.

 Hello Janet

Hugs!

I am glad that you made it safe and sound to the hospital.  I had no idea the weather was that bad!  I am sorry you had to deal with it along with the worries of surgery.

It sounds like surgery was done at a good time.  It probably was a great thing to get that kidney out.  I do hope a doner can be found shortly and that Eddie heals fast.  Prayers continue for both of you.

I hope you have some support for you while you are there.  If you feel the need to talk, please feel free to call me at 815.223.0012.  It would be difficult to go through all of this alone.

Get some rest and make sure you take care of yourself so that you can take care of Eddie.
