Update on My Sister

Good morning my IL family! Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers on Tuesday's post.

We finally got the word on my sis last night. She has a twisted bowel and has to go to surgery this morning. It's going to be an open procedure. My sis is so upset and miserable. She was crying on the phone to me; saying she can't take it anymore and wished she never had the surgeries.

I tried to re-assure her and just let her vent. It's been a real rough 2 weeks - today is her 2 week post-op. She only was home for a day and then was readmitted to Alexian.

I will be going over to Alexian Brothers this morning so I can spend some time with her before surgery. It might be at noon-time or could be bumped up or down depending on the other scheduled patients.

Please keep her in your prayers for a successful surgery and recovery. I will post later tonight.

Oh your poor sister. I feel so bad for her. I guess if I was in shoes I would be wishing I hadn't had the surgery either. She will be in my thoughts and prayers

I had a similiar situation. I had a blood clot by my colon and they had to do an open surgery two days after my original. I have had some complication since, but I also have lost 54 pds in 7 weeks. Tell her to hang in there........it gets better:)

I will be thinking of you and your sister today! It's the start of lent today so lots of people praying today!

This is very similar to what happened to Monica G.....after the second surgery, she has been doing great!

Prayers for your sister (and you). She will feel so much better, physically and mentally, when this is all done. Please keep us posted, and we are keeping positive thoughts for a successful surgery and fast recovery.

I am glad that you and your family got some answers yesterday. A twisted bowel does make you feel miserable. No wonder your sister is so upset! After surgery, she will be feeling much better.

Prayers that surgery was successful and that she has a speedy recovery.
