Monday Roll Call
Below is what I posted to an Atkins Support List this morning. I need to get back on board with you guys as well. Not losing weight and sometimes gaining a little. Not eating too much at one time but I think I fill my pouch too often and often drink too soon after eating so it washes down into my intestines where the space is still sort of like wearing sweat pants all of the time due to hernias.
Those who have been around a while know that my rebellious streak will not let me be starting a challenge with the rest of you. Or is it just that my life never seems that easily ordered.
I look forward to more post though and reminders to stay on track.
Friday I had to drive into Chicago and take Cheryl to the ER. A bug gut her system out of whack and caused havoc. I had the same bug last week but I guess my regular vitamin regimen kept me out of the ER as others we know have had to go the ER route as well recently.
Being RNY and having only had my protein about noon I went to the hospital cafeteria where they had large soft tacos for a dollar. I did great eating about half of the filling waiting half an hour and getting a drink then an hour later the other half of the filling. I knew when I ordered it I should have asked for the filling in a bowl. That flour tortillia disappeared.
The years leading up to RNY were rough ones and I had taken up smoking cigars and drinking. Ussually sticking to the low carb recommendations but really not expecting to live long enough to deal with these things as a problem. Life is funny. Here I am at 300 pounds and almost healthy, at least in comparison to what I was. Quitting cigars with the patch I had cut back several months ago to one a day with the patch and am now in my third week of no cigars and in a week should move to the smallest dose patch. Cutting way back and likely leaving alcohol behind as well. All but maybe seven years out of 58 I have been a teetotaller. Not eating, not drinking, not smoking, look out world for what I might find to do.

I agree with Lisa. You're doing great. So you had a few pitfalls along the way. Just look how far you've come.
I'm sure you'll pick up speed and get down to your goal in no time. Men always have better losses then women.
Take care and hope to see you here again.

I haven't been posting much lately and I am feeling it mentally. I have not weighed myself in a few weeks and I am finding I am also having cravings for crackers. I also, had a few girl scout cookies which I soooooo regret. Thank God the visual temptations is out of the house.
I know I am still losing, just not as fast as I would like. I really need to get my butt in the gym and work out. I am hoping the weather continues upward as I hope to start riding my bike to work. I am about 6 miles from work and all side road riding. With the cost of gas and the fact I need to exercise I can attack two issues at once.
I have one more month to get ready for Great America opening. I so want to be a size 18 to ensure I can get on the rides. I am so close to that goal, about 10 lbs away. I can wear some 18s but it all depends on the cut.
I am home today thank you to Casmir Pulaski! Love these Monday's off. Last weekend, I made all my travel plans for the summer. My daughter and I are flying into Tucson in June. My parents and my hubby's parents live there and I need to spend some bulk time with my mom. I will be there about 3 weeks. Then in July, my daughter and I are taking a train ride to Albany, NY. I am from upstate/central NY and I am getting together with all my college friends for a reunion. Then off to Rome, NY to see family and friends. Summer will be so nice with the traveling. Plus knowing that I will be able to fit into the seats without any belt extensions will be a blessing.
Hope all have a good day!!
Debbie
Lucy, so sorry to hear about your sister's health. You know she must be feeling badly if she's been in the hospital a week!. Hope they can get her stabilzed and feeling better.
I had a Sunday like Lisa. I really did just about NOTHING. Got home from church and vegged out! It was kinda nice...took a nap, too! Lisa, Chloe and I made cinnamon rolls on Saturday and had a good time. She enjoyed kneading the dough. It wasn't the best receipe I've had, but pulled it off the internet and it was quick...not a lot of raising time, which probably would have made them fluffier! But they were good for a first attempt.
Randy, hang in there. Nice to hear from you.
Debbie, sounds like you will have a nice travel summer. I'm flying in mid April. Haven't been on a flight from before surgery, so, I am looking forward to see how well I fit in the seat! Havent' had to use an extender before, but had the belt pulled to the farthest point, and not much room between me and the arm rests. I'm pretty sure I will notice a big difference (no pun intended) I'm actually kinda excited to compare! LOL the things that make us happy. PLus, I know just walking through the airport will be a lot less of a challenge!
Chloe's 11th bday is Friday and we are going down on Saturday for a bday party. It will be fun. One of the newer doll series are called "monster high" dolls. They have names like Frankie Stein and such. They look like "pretty monsters"..go on amazon and take a look at them. They are the "thing" with 8-12 year old girls. So, of course, I found one Chloe doesn't have, along with a "bed" for the one she does. Her mom got her a couple, so she will be delighted.
Roxie is so hysterical after Chloe visits. She's not used to so much activity and being awake so much. She was lying on my bed, sound asleep while I got ready for work this morning! It's a hoot.
Well, have a super week. Nancy, hope you get your surgery scheduled to your satisfaction.
Georgie

But, i am glad you had fun.
