Monday Roll Call
Hello everyone
Well we have some more ugly Winter weather coming our way this week.
Yesterday I went to Meijer...in the pouring rain and I get to the check out and I realize my debit card is gone. I can't find it any where. I had some cash in my purse and was able to pay for some of my items and the rest had to go back. I checked my car and went home and checked my apartment...nothing. So I had to cancel my card. UGH!!! I hate this. So now I have to make time this week to go pick my card up at the bank. The bank closes at 5pm so I will have to leave work early...this is during month end. I don't have time for this.
My daughter got a promotion at work. She is now the manager or director...something like that. It doubled her salary!!!
I hope everyone has a good day. See ya later.

Good Morning.
Well, we are now home, after a great weekend in St. Louis. I was able to spend some time with my 2 best friends, connected with some high school friends, went an seen 9 to 5 ( it was great), did some shopping, and spent the weekend with Monica, Scott and Morgan. I also fitted in time to see my new great neice and my cousin and went to the boat. A great weekend, and I am glad to be home.
Thanks for all the advice on buying a kindle. I went Thursday night and bought a Ipad. I probly spent more then I intended to, but it is worth it. I was online alot this weekend.'
Today, I am staying home, off work, and doing all the chores that didn't get done this weekend. Hubert will be off until next Sunday, and he is finishing the bookcases/entertainment system/tv wall.
Crystal, I know how frustraing losing a credit card can be. At least you didn't lose your wallet.
Have a great, wet day. Stay safe.
Huggers,
Lisa

Morning all! Crystal, that stinks about the card. I do not have one - just CC's for us but I would flip out if I lost one of those also.
It seemed to be a grocery store day for us also & in the rain. We went to Sam's so Dave could do some walking. The PT said for him to push a grocery cart as it would help with his gait and for him to stand up straight and it did. We are trying to get to Sam's a few times before our membership expires. We are switching over to Costco in March and Costco does not have some of the things that we regularly buy.
Dave has PT in EGV at 10, he wants to go back to Sam's again and then I have a lot of errands to run over by Woodfield before the weather hits us.
Astala bye bye for now

Good Morning!
Have a sore throat this morning and no voice to go with it. Sound like a frog!
We just got our internet back. Have been offline since last Tuesday. New modem and some other small things were to blame.
Think I am going to make some soup for dinner tonight. Have a board meeting to go to for Rainbow Girls and then the regular meeting after that. It will be a long evening.
Its raining right now, don't think we have any snow forcasted. It was 75 degrees yesterday in St. Louis and now I think its only about 30 out right now.
Hope every one has a wonderful day!

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
I share your pain about the debit card, but better safe than sorry. Also-----GREAT news about your daughter....CONGRATS!
David was cast as the LEAD in the play after the audition on Firday. I am amazed! This is actually the first play he really auditioned for as the "Wizard of Oz" was a tuition based program where EVERYONE is cast.
The director had a 'vision" that included David and she just wanted to meet with him to double check that her "vision" would work. I am happy for him, but mostly because HE is so happy about it himself. This will mean lots and lots of running for me as Olivia is in her school's production in the town to the west of us and this production is about 15-20 minutes to the EAST of us. Drama, drama, drama.......
Oh, and the other "director" that was making my life miserable has been knocked down a peg and told that she is NOT the boss of the world! Yippee! She will be in charge of the little kids and I will be in charge of the older kids with both of us reporting to a committe chair. This is the best answer.
I am just working today after a horrible dumping episode last night. I had a dinner to attend with some family members and my SIL and I were drinking something that looked very similar. She reacts to diet beverages with a migraine and I of course can not drink sugared beverages. They got switched and I thought I was not going to be able to finish the drive home!!!!! AWFUL! I made it and went straight to bed! UGGGGGHHHH!!!! I am feeling better this morning and very glad about that fact!
It was great to see some new faces popping in over the weekend! I hope they continue to come and play with us!
Everyone have a great day and stay safe!

Good morning,
Nurse came today and said the wound is healing nicely. I'm so ready for the vacuum to go away! But I am glad I am not working. It was the best decision to go on STD and take the time to heal.
Crystal-that stinks about the debit card! I haven't that happen to me with the debit card, but my husband did lose my corporate card once.
Lisa-I am so glad you like the Ipad! I love mine and the kindle. I was just browsing Amazon to see if Harlan Coben has his new book out yet......and not until next month:( How was 9 to 5? I was thinking about seeing it in Chicago.
Christine-love Costco more than Sam's. I'm glad to hear Dave is getting around.
Dawn-sounds like you have some talented family members!
I slept really bad last night. Couldn't get comfy with the vacuum so I'm pretty tired today. Will be taking a nap!
I need vegatable recipes. I know I should stay away from broccoli and asparagus (my two favorites) since they are gassy and stringy. Anyone have suggestions?
I hope everyone has a great monday and drive safe home from work! I guess it is going to get ugly tonight!
Take care,
Jules

Hi Jules
A favorite of mine and it made a whole meal was my bean salad. I would open cans of a variety of beans, green, lima, yellow, kidney, garbanzo, northern etc. and mix them together. You can add some chopped tomatoes, cucumbers and celery if desired. Pour fat free, sugar free italian dressing over the mixture and refrigerate several hours or over night. Yum. It made great lunches to pack.

Hi all!
I love that you all are able to share and encourage each other through this forum. It really helps to have that support!
Yesterday, I spent the first major time out of the house since my surgery (besides going to the doctor for post-op appt). I went with my mom to see "The Fighter". It was an amazing movie! I highly recommend it. I then spend some time at my parents house and just got to relax in a new environment. It was nice, but I'm paying for it today. I'm really tired and just worn out. I'm alittle dizzy and nauseous today, I hope it goes away fast.
I have my 5 closest friends coming over today for a visit. We all met in grad school, and become tight ever since! I miss them, but alittle nervous. I hope I don't have to entertain them, because I have NO energy today!
Has anybody else felt this way post-op (dizzy, nauseous, cold sweat, more worn out than normal)? I did take a painkiller that I had left over from a previous surgery, but have never had a side effect from it before. But with a new digestive system, anything could happen!

Hi Lindsey
Welcome to the board. I just wanted to let you know that your reactions are normal. You just had major surgery! It takes a while to get both feet back on the ground. Pain killers can sometimes throw you for a loop. You are not eating as much right now so they will hit you harder. I took LOTS of naps while I was newly post op and did not try to do a lot. Allow yourself a chance to heal! Good luck! Hugs.
