Thursday Roll Call
Hello everyone
Well I came out this morning and almost had a heart attack...my flat tire indicator light was on!!!I was cussing up a storm...but when I checked my tires they are all fine??? I checked before I left this morning and when I got to work. Everything is fine. I will check my tires at lunch and see if there's still no problems.
My boss has been in the hospital. She was sick last week with what she thought was the beginnings of the flu...but I guess over the weekend she got worse and they admitted her to the hospital. She seems to me to be a perfectly healthy 55 year old woman but her potassium, iron and hemoglobin levels are super low (she never had WLS). I wonder what would cause this??? Well I hope she gets better soon.
Jule- 100% disability is awesome. I only get 70%. I would take advantage of that and take my time getting better and heal.
Back to training this morning. I wish this person would learn faster....so I can get back to my work.
See everyone later...have a great day. Bye

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
The more I learn about you Crystal, the more I think we are soul sisters. We share many of the same life experiences. I really HAVE considered writing it all down. It would make entertaining reading!
I am working today then home. Exciting, I know. It will be the first night this week I don't have any commitments so I am looking forward to it.
That's about it for me.....I am thinking of Chris and Dave. Nancy, I am sending BIG HUGS to you as I know that surgery can be a scary thing. We will continue to send healing vibes to you and I hope that recovery is swift.
Everyone have a great day and stay worm....the temps are going to rise soon!

It is cold out. My car is saying -10. I will be so so glad when this breaks!
I am at work, but I am leaving at 2 to go to Bloomington to see Riverdance tonight. Will also get to see my DGD. Of course, Monica and Scott as well.
Have a great day, stay warm and safe.

Crystal and the rest of IL,
You and the tires! I do agree it's probably your sensor. I have the same thing happen when it gets super cold (and I think -10 is super cold) or really hot.
My husband lost his job yesterday. I am super scared as the insurance goes away March 31st. I need to heal by then so I don't pay anything! His insurance was the best. Not to mention his salary. We are still paying his ex wife and a lot of her expenses as well. So two households are really affected. He is very talented and smart so I HOPE he can bounce back very quickly. It's a scary job market out there though. Keep us in your prayers for a quick job!
I go to the dr today. When the nurse was here yesterday, my wound has a bunch of puss in the wound. They called in another prescription. So now I'm worried it's not healing well. AAHHHH! Yes, I think I will be taking the STD for the 8 weeks. I also can keep an eye on my husband.
I hope you all have a good day! Stay warm!!!!!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your husband losing his job. What does he do for a living maybe someone here knows someone that knows someone. Networking is one of the best ways to find a job.
Also, about the health insurance. First, can you get health insurance at your job. It might not be as good but at least it's something. Second, if you don't have the option of health insurance at work, your husband might want to inquire about COBRA...I know it can be expensive but someone was telling me about how they lowered the cost of COBRA due to some bill Obama past. But that was over a year ago someone told me this. I would look into it just to see what the cost would be...it might be cheaper than you think.
Not to be nosey but why is your husband paying his ex-wife??? I thought only rich people pay alimony. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe your rich...hahaha.
Again very sorry for your hubby's job loss. I can understand that feeling of worry over money.

He was a Director of IT-Infrastructure. He does make a decent amount of money.....not rich, but enough to support two households. He was married 16 years and his ex never worked. And still does not!
I know I can go on Dunkin's insurance. It's expensive and crappy. The nice thing about Rob's insurance is that we didn't pay a thing. That whole time in the hospital and the surgery, I won't pay one single thing. But we will do what we have to do! We have four children between the two of us. Maybe COBRA will be better and hopefully you are right, it might be cheaper:)
Thanks for the support! This site has been great for so much more than just the WLS.
Take care,
Jules

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's job. As someone who has been "downsized" twice, it can be very traumatic to go through. The first time it happened to me I was just devastated. I lost my dream job and I now realize I have some PTSD issues related to it. The second time was a little more familiar terrority but still frightening as I am my sole supporter. There is no other income coming in.
I dont know what your faith is, but I trusted the man upstairs and just put my trust in him to see me through the unemployment both times. Your husbands field should make it pretty easy for him to find reemployment. I think there is some pretty high demand for good IT workers. So, I pray that he quickly finds a new position and discovers that he likes the new one better than the old one.
I actually came out in a better situation after my first downsizing. Had I been kept, I would have had double the stress and they have since gone through downsizing again and almost no one I worked with survived the last round.
Trust that all will turn out for the best and keep the faith. Hang in there!

Your husband has to support her...it's not 1950...women are capable of supporting themselves and their families. Oh that just annoys me. Unless there is some medical reason a person can't work. There is no reason why this woman should be supported by your husband. Why can't she work or at least go back to school and get herself trained for a job. I have a sister that has been on welfare and other government support since the day she turned 18 and this annoys me too.
I don't know if my annoyance comes from jealousy...I would love to stay home and not work...especially on a day like today...it was 23- outside this morning.
I also was thinking about the fact you have 4 kids between you. I was thinking you could get your kids medical coverage through AllKids. It's health insurance offered through the state. It won't be free...it's on a sliding scale. So the more you make the more you pay...but with your husband out of work you may qualify. And it would be great temporarily till he finds a job. That way you don't have to pay the COBRA prices for the kids. I know someone that is on this and the kids get good medical care. The link is below.

What you see when it pops on when it gets cold is a bit of frost on the sensor causing it to read incorrectly. If it stays on head to a discount tire and they can reset it for free for you. Or just wait until the weather changes and it should go back to normal.
