Good morning Illinois!!!!!

I am back at work, as usual.
Thanks for asking Crystal, about the "family".  We have only had one sister-in-law start and she started last Monday.  She did very well as I trained her for the first 2 days.  Much better than expected.  By the 3rd day, she was complaining about aches, pains and how she didn't feel well.  This one is somewhat of a hypo-chondriac.  Twice, her 20 year old (stripper) daughter was in here flouncing around like she owned the place.

The other sister-in-law starts next Monday, I think.  These 2 are not getting along these days so it should be interesting......

Actually, the 2nd sister-in-law just came in and she is the one with the daughter that is going on the European trip.  She just keeps going on and on about how much $$$ different comapnies have donated to the "cause".  GRRRRRRRRR!!  In my family, we have to earn and save our own $$ to take trips.  This should also make the workplace "interesting....."

My stress-level is pretty high and I am looking for ideas for relief, bring 'em on!

Everyone have a lovely day!

Dawn and the rest of the gang,

I feel your pain.  We had two family owned companies growing up.  I didn't have too many problems with those, but when I got married, we started a constrution company with the in laws.  My MIL was the issue.  She wanted all the brothers working there but one was super lazy.  I finally had to leave and get another job.  But I was much happier!  I think she was too!

I'm going to call in my status to STD today.  Work shut me down the other day and I'm not healing at all (which I guess I'm being too impatient).  So they want me to go on leave and STD.  Since they pay 100% and my job is secure, why not.

I also need to send out valentine day cards.  I need to go to McD and get gift cards first.  The nurse doesn't come until 130 today so I guess that will wait until she is here since I can't shower until she gets here.  Unless I cover up and go through the drive thru.....no one will be able to tell then!

I'm getting about 50g of protein a day.  Is that enough?  I haven't had any hair loss issues yet.  I have really thick hair, so a little thinning won't be terrible.  I am horrible about taking my vitamins.  I need to set an alarm or something.  I'm just not used to so many pills in one day!

I hope everyone has a good day!  Stay warm.....it's awful out there!

Dear Jules:

Please be patient and let your body heal.  STD at 100% sounds great!  Take advantage and get yourself helathy!

I can't speak for your doctor's protocol, but mine says minimum 60-80 grams of protein a day.  This is 2-3 shakes made with powder.  Protein will also help you heal.

Please get on a schedule with your viatamins too.  These will also help you heal and you need them for life.  At first, I made a spreadsheet to help me remember what to take and when.  I also had all my food and drink scheduled so I could check it off as I went.  After a couple of weeks, it was habit.  It really IS worth the effort.  YOU are worth it!

Good morning Dawn and IL friends.

Dawn, family can be nerve-racking! Hang in there - sometimes things change as fast as things happen. Sounds like you do need a stress reliever.

I hope and pray that the rest of our IL family is doing well and hanging in there. Haven't heard from Monica in a long time! Pray that Dave is doing well with his recovery post surgery. The rehab part is very tough and demanding on his body and I'm sure that Chris is doing her best to care for her hubby,

Crystal - sorry to hear about your loss and sister issues. I can't imagine what you've been going through. You look marvelous though - years younger in your picture.

If I missed someone  - not my intention!! Sorry.

I'm doing fairly well - just need to keep those evil carbs at bay! My progress is slow but I am getting the weight off and it's going to stay off. I still love my "DS" and know I made the right decision for me. No more throwing up from the band. Love being able to take NSAIDS if I need to. I'm still exercising - today did 45 on the elliptical on level 4. YAY!! Started out on level 1. On my training day - yesterday, she had me on the elliptical for 3 minutes on level 15! Yikes, that was hard but I did it. So I am gaining strength daily and love it.

Only wi**** wasn't so cold outside with all that lovely snow outside!

Stay warm and keep safe.

Hugs,
Lucy

Good Morning,

I am also at work. It is very quiet right now, so Oh time is nice.

Dawn, the best defense against your SILs, smile. They won't know what you are really thinking, and it might just drive them a bit crazy trying to figure it out.  Maybe you should tell the one whos daughter is going to Europe that since your kids have done things without the help of the "family", you really can't afford to help hers. (since you are still paying off yours). It probaly won't help, but at least they would know that you won't do anything to aid it.

For your stress, tune everyone out. Or go buy a Starbucks coffee and enjoy it. (OK, I know  they are way to many calories, but once in a while).

Hopefully this artic blast will end soon. We need warm air and spring.

Hoping everyone has a great day, stay safe and warm.

Huggers,
LISA

SMILING!!!!!

As far as the one with the trip, that is exactly what I want to do.  I'm just not sure that Todd will back me up.  He is the kind to cave in to his family to keep the "peace".
I am willing to make a small cash donation (in the amount that this SIL has purchased in fundraising from my kids----which is WAY LESS than they are expecting for their kid) and tell them that is all we can do.  Not only are we still working on paying off David's last trip and next trip, but Olivia needs to have opportunities also.

Hello everyone

I am training again so I can't get on here to post till later in the day.  I can only work on my work from 6am -8am...then I have to train all day.  How am I supposed to get my own work done???  The girl I'm training is really nice but she is a slow learner and I have to keep reminding her of the same things over and over.  So I can't really trust her to do the job unattended.

I am looking forward to the weekend.  And I bought new undies yesterday!!!  They fit great.  I bought 3 packs.  I will buy a few more packs and then throw all of my old undies away!!!  Then I will move on to replacing bras!!!  Of course I'm already thinking of the expense of buying all new spring and summer clothes...because not much from last summer will fit now (especially the pants).  This is very expensive.  At least I'm happy the pants I'm wearing right now cost me $2.99 at Goodwill!!!  I also bought a few pairs of petite size jeans at Goodwill and when I fold them over once they are perfect capris.  So I have 3 pairs of those...but no dress clothes for work yet.

Dawn-  A stripper for a daughter...hmmm...that's one thing my family doesn't have...a stripper...hahaha

Well I better get back to training.  See ya later.

We have lots and lots in common!
As for the stripper....this is the first job she's actually held for more than a week!

 Evening Everyone!

I am bringing up the rear but wanted to post a hello.

Jules, I would take the STD in a heartbeat!  I did it for my surgery and was only paid 70% but it is well worth it.  It allows your body a chance to heal without pressure of going back to work.

Dawn, hang in there.  Maybe a stress reliever would be creating a book of all your experiences.  I think a title of  Life with the Witches or the Witches I Work With would make some very entertaining reading.

Crystal, I hope you are doing ok.  My thoughts are with you as you deal from the recent death of your stepdad.

Lucy,  good to see you again!  Glad things are going well.

I had visits with my surgeon and cardiologist today.  My back surgery is scheduled for Feb 25th and the reality is sinking in as it is only 2 weeks away.  I am nervous about this proceedure due to the length of time it takes for the back to heal.  I did go buy a new office/desk chair today.  I really like it and think it will be good support for my back and is easy to get in and out of which will be good for after surgery.

Have a great evening everyone!

Nancy
