Memories of Steve Martin in The Jerk this morning. I am reading a bit catching up with some old list members posts. Not seeing much from new ones recently. I know the blizzard left everyone a bit frazzled and now we have the cold so protect your extremities.

Good morning Randy and IL friends!
I've been so busy the past few weeks. After New Years, I got a bad head cold. Recovered from that and went on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera with Mom. Had a great time and didn't gain any weight even though I did eat!
Started dating someone from an Internet website for a month now. He's very attentive and sweet; lives in Aurora.
Still working out 6 days a week. I am able to wear my small size swimsuits now that I wore in 2006 and 2007. I am so close to getting into onederland - only 4.1 pounds to go!!!
The blizzard got me too. I was stuck in the house on Wednesday and then once they got my entrance door clear of snow, I had to shovel my huge driveway. What a mess!!
No plans for any trips at least until summer/early fall. I have a conference in Dallas late September.
Stay warm and safe everyone! It's going to be a bear this week.

Good morning,
Well, HR called yesterday and won't let me work now until I have a note from the dr. I won't see him until Thursday. They also said I should have applied for STD, so I am dealing with paperwork now. I had the verbal that I could work from home....but I am also not healing. My wound was 3 inches deep. It's still that deep!
So maybe working from home isn't helping? My emotions got to me yesterday when the nurse told me it's not getting better and then work called and said I can't work. I'm better today.
Randy-I need a nap too....so I'm going to take one! Since I can't work, I might as well take advantage!
Hope everyone else is having a good day!!!!! Crystal-just read your entry from Sunday. I'm sorry things have been so rough for you. I'm glad you can vent here and know you're getting lots of hugs!

The wound will heal. I had one deeper than that from my pancreatitis and it took close to 9 months to completely "skin" over. By the way it was the Kane boys (SR & JR) that got me through it. Is there any way that you can have the doc office fax over a signed release for you to return?

Slept well last night but still dragging a little butt today. The one good thing about the frigid weather is that it usually does not snow. That is a saving grace for me that I will not have to get up and shovel before I pull out of the driveway and also shovel the sidewalks for the medical personnel to come to our door. So, I have a reprieve for a few days.
Have to make a fast trip to the grocery store after work and then a couple small loads of laundry to do. I will also try and get some pictures up and on my profile of the necklaces that I am makin, but no promises.

Good afternoon Randy and the rest of Illinois!
I am just working away over here. Not too much exciting going on. We ARE making plans for our group cruise at the end of September, so that is something.
I need to stop by the theater tonight as the middle school group has rehearsal. Since Olivia is no longer invited to be involved in that group, I am not sure what the point is of me being there. To protect the kids, I guess..... Then tomorrow, I need to go there after work to meet the high school kids to clean the theater before the opening of the show this weekend. The high school group cleans the theater before performances to earn money for field trips and stuff.
OH.....maybe I DO have something exciting to report........I am stepping "out of my box" and taking an acting workshop on Saturday mornings for the next 3! I hope I do well. I'm kind of nervous about it, but am hoping it will be fun and good therapy.
As for what I NEED today.......I NEED some relaxation and stress relief. Unfortunately, I see neither happening any time soon. Hence, the acting workshop......
It is good to see Lucy and I hope Julie begins to heal soon.

Hello everyone
Work was really boring today. I was stuck training someone that is not even in my department...why you ask....because the boss of that department doesn't know her employee's jobs!!! How does she get away with that??? So all day I sat with her...from 8-5!!! And I have tomorrow to train too (maybe the rest of the week) and then there will be the weeks and weeks of questions...because I can't possibly teach her everything for every scenario now. They don't pay me enough!!!
I had a good workout and then a few of my friends sat around talking about how skinny I look (especially from behind)...which sounds like great fun but really I get embarrassed. I don't know how to take compliments. Their hearts are in the right place and they are great support.
Dawn- I was wondering how working with your family has been going. I know you weren't looking forward to working with them.
Christine- I know care giving is a very tiring job. Just think every day that goes by the better Dave is getting.
Well I would say have a nice day like I always do but it's night time...so have a nice night.
