Friday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I am so glad it's Friday. I just want to snuggle in my bed.
My dad's memorial service is Sunday and this will sound terrible but I can't wait for it to all be over with. I realized last night I don't have a black sweater/blouse anymore...I got rid of everything that was too big. I am hesitant to buy one. Do you think a dark purple sweater is ok?
Today I have work (for money), working out (for my fat), Walmart (for groceries), Best Buy (to pick up an order), Walgreens (to pick up a Rx) and Chipotle (for dinner..yum). Busy evening.
Ok you guys will think I'm nuts but one of my New Year's resolutions (it was last year's too) was to get myself out there and start dating again. Well I signed up at one of those dating sites and set up my profile...I used the same picture I use here. I figured I would wait a long while for one nibble...because I did list myself as overweight. I figured all guys want skinny girls. Well to my shock and HORROR in one day I have 11 men sending me messages and wanting to meet me. Now I am scared...why I don't know...it's been a long time since I dated. I haven't responded to one guy yet!!! I know need to just jump in with both feet. Have any of you had this reaction to dating after a long pause??? I am tempted to delete my profile and forget it...but is that really what I should do??? I would like to meet someone nice.

Good Morning, another cold day, but at least the sun is shining. I wore sunglasses to and from work yesterday, and will probaly do th same today if we go out.
Crystal, you are not nuts for wanting to date.Just, at the first meetings, meet at Starbucks or somewhere else. Just be careful. I have a friend who is on a dating service too, and thats what she does. Also, give out only your cell phone #. If you have a landline, don't use it.

On FB last night, I connected with an old classmate. It was a good visit.
Today, I want to get my hair colored. To much gray is showing. Then this evening, we are suppose to go to Bloomington, but not sure.

I don't thinkit matters what you wear to the service as long as you are there. Last time I went to a wake the people were in every color possible including brigh pink and a bright red (the widow).
I have known several people who have dated online including my sister. They have been together for over 10 years now.
My old manager also met his wife online.
I think you should just jump in and go for it. You never know who you will meet.

I would chat online for a while, then if I thought they were ok, I would meet up at a Dunkin, Starbucks something like that. I made sure I told my sister all the details, you never know what creeps are out there. If I didn't like them for what ever reason, I didn't go out again. I was single for a long time and had a lot of first dates! My pickiness paid off!
So jump right in and have fun! Dating can be exhausting (they reminded me of job interviews sometimes!)
So today is my first day out of the house. i have to pick up my kids from their Dad's house and take my older son to his dance. While he is at the dance, I'm going to take my younger son to his Dad's grandparents house and hang out there (their school is 45 min away from my house). I still have the wound vac so I don't want to go out in public if I don't have to! Plus, I still get tired easily.
Ok, I better go do some work today! I havne't been the most productive this week!

Dark purple will be fine. Like Monica says, it seems that in some cases, color does not matter any more. In your case, dark is probably called for, but I would not worry about buying something new. I agree with Lisa and Monica about the dating. I know a few people who met online and have happy relationships, butBE CAREFUL. I would think that it would be a good way to begin since you are pretty busy. There are some men who WANT overweight women, really.
The doctors decided not to do the surgery on the coach yesterday due to brain swelling, maybe today. The son was released yesterday and is staying with his mom at the hospital's guest quarters. I am not sure where the oldest son (David's friend) is staying.
I am working today and attending a "Women's Wellness" workshop tomorrow in Madison. It sounds fun and maybe a good way to get back on track. Also a trip to Madison means I get to go to Trader Joe's!
We are going to Todd's sofball buddy's for the game on Sunday, although I care nothing about the game.

Good morning Crystal and IL,
Wow, was that a storm or what!??? There was so much snow in our lumber yard, plus with the extra cold weather, we had Wed and Thurs off. I was able to snowblow myself out of my drive, but Roxie has had to relocate her going out patch from the back yard to the front. THere are huge drifts on my deck.
Crystal, go for it!! One other tip I have heard is to make sure one of your friends knows all the details of where you are meeting someone/time date/ his name, etc and then have them call you on your cell about a hour in just in case you want an excuse to leave and can't seem to get away! LOL (The other people involved prbly know this trick too! LOL) but better safe than sorry. Good luck!! It'll be an interesting experience. On the lapband board, I get a kick out of reading some of Ms Swoosh's dating encounters. I'm sure you've seen them too!
