A Snowy Wednesday Roll Call

Hello everyone

Well I woke up early this morning and boy did it snow (from what I hear my area got about 18 inches last night).  I am going to have a Hell of a time shoveling my car out of my parking lot (I'm not going to hold my breath for my landlord to do it).  Later today I will start the snow removal process.  I'm not going anywhere I just want to make a path so I can leave for work tomorrow morning.  The building next to me and the library across from me have what looks like 3-4 foot snow drifts on their roofs.  That can't be good...that could cave in.  Which make make me wonder how much snow is on my roof.

In the mean time I am going to relax and be cozy and enjoy my snow day.  My work is still open because our dear wonderful president is more worried about profits than he is about the safety and well-being of his employees.  My boss basically encouraged and suggested very strongly that we stay home today.  She did this even though she could be in trouble for encouraging us to stay home.  So all of finance will be out today and about 80 % of our customer service department will be out.

Well if you are crazy enough to try to drive...be safe.  BYE

Morning to you my dear. We are snow bound also. Fortunately our neighbors will be removing our snow for us so we do not have to deal with that. We also have drifts galore in our yard. At times last night I could not see my neighbors garage flood light across the street.

Dave had an extremely painful afternoon and evening yesterday. He was worked real hard by the PT lady and the femoral block has completely wore off. He was on schedule with his pain meds so it wasn't a matter of that. He seems to be back to almost himself right now. Just hearing on the news that there has been an order for people not to drive in some of the counties to the W & SW of us.

Stay safe.

Good Morning.

My husband works the the local hospital and they went on Disaster Mode last night which ment that he could have been called in at any time.  He tried to go to work this morning but cannot get the car out of the drive or down our street.  He says the snow is knee deep in the road and there are also 2 large drifts across the road.  He had to call for a ride into work today but so far he has not been picked up.

I am also having a snow day.  Not sure if it is considered an emergency day or if I have to use my unplanned time off to get paid for it but I am sure I will find out tomorrow.  My daughter was home sick from school on Monday and school had been cancelled on Tuesday and today also.  Not happy about the snow days but at least she will not have as much homework to make up since part of the absence is from the snow.

Going to make pot roast for dinner tonight.  Looking forward to that!

Have a safe and warm day!

Good Morning,

We can't get out either of our doors this morning. and drifts are around the cars. The plow hasbeen through at least 2 times, but it is making the drift in front of our driveway almost 4 ft. tall. We will tackle it later.

The 2 highways coming into town are both closed down. So, even if I had wanted to, I wouldn't of been able to get out of town today. I had already told my boss that I wasn't going in this morning. I am hoping I can get to work tomorrow.

Crystal, our main office is suppose to be open today also. I don't know how many will make it in, since very few live in Rock Falls. But, if the CEO wants to go in, let her. We were also told not to do anything dangerous to get to our sites.

An uexpected day off is nice. I plan on cleaning and cooking I think.

Please don't do anything foolish today. Stay home and stay safe.

Huggers, from inside my igloo,

LISA

 Morning Everyone!

I too am snowed in and cannot open my doors.  I have drifts of 3 feet or more on my front deck so cant get to my car even if I got the door open.  I hope the cats are ok.  I tried to convince the one that showed up last night to come inside but no go.  Now I cannot feed him nor could he make it to the front door to eat.

Our interstates are still closed but work has refused to cancell as of yet.  We are to call in at 11 am to see what is going on.  I am not sure how they expect anyone to get there.  The majority of the roads are closed, the state police are asking people to stay off the roads.  So my money hungry company is still trying to open.    They are too cheap to pay everyone for a snow day.  Ugh!

Well, I am not going anywhere.  I could not even if I wanted to.  So I am staying inside where it is warm.  I am not a fool.  I happen to value my life.

Everyone enjoy their day off!

Good afternoon,

I am lucky to have my husband home and he cleared out the driveway.  The roads are not clear but the driveway is!  He is being a total nice man and snow blowing the neighbors as well.

I just had mashed potatoes.  YUM!  I know it can't be a meal everytime, but is sure tasted good the first time!

I am working from home today as I have all week.  I wish I could stay in bed all day!  I have conference call after conference call today.

Have a good day and stay warm everyone!

Take care,

Jules
