Monday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I hear we are in for some messy weather today.
I bought some new clothes online yesterday. I went to the Thrift store and they didn't have the specific items i was looking for in my size. So plan B go to JCP.com. I love JCPenneys and they have good prices. Then I went to Landsend.com and found a nice sweater on sale for $25 (which is cheap for Landsend). I am loving being able to shop at all these different stores...before I was limited to Avenue and Lanebryant. If I ever go into another Lanebrant again it will be too soon. I went through my closet again yesterday and really got rid of anything that didn't fit anymore. Other that a couple sweatshirts (which I like to wear big anyway) I got rid of all big clothes. My closet looks so empty now. It makes me feel like I need to buy more clothes...which I did...hahaha. This by far one of the best things about losing weight.
I am all set for a week from tomorrow...I will be shopping for wedding dresses with my daughter. I have a budget of $2000 and that includes the veil and undergarments...so lets hope she finds a cheap dream dress!!! I can't wait!!! I will be posting lots of pictures on Facebook. I really hope the weather is nice.
I tried out my heart rate monitor yesterday and it's great. When I sit my heart rate is around 78 and when I clean my closet it's at about 120...hahaha. This will help me exercise within my heart rate zone. Which is very important....too slow and your not doing anything...too fast and your not burning fat/calories.
Well better get going...try to enjoy your Monday...Ughhh. Bye...

Morning folks. Crystal, yes I heard and read on several weather services that we are in for weather that will possibly cause traffic issues. For some they have the day off due to MLK Day so that should make the traffic a little lighter. I have my Spikey's to put on my boots for the walk home incase it is slippery. I love JCP catalog on line also.
Today after work I need to put away all the miscellaneous items from Christmas into their storage bins. We have my nephew coming on Saturday to shampoo the carpets and our two recliners. That is it for me in a nutshell.
&
PS - there is a girl that posted a second thread regarding support groups in the western suburbs. All I could do is provide her a cut and paste of what I wrote in Dec. Does anyone else have any suggestions for her?

Aaargh. Shopping. I swear I thought I'd enjoy it more than I do! Good for you for enjoying it!
I have been a "normal" size for a long time now and can shop in any store, even dumb, "young" ones like Forever 21. I just do not like to. I think having TOO many choices is overwhelming. I would not have believed it before, but I guess I liked having only a couple of stores to choose from: Lane Bryant and Avenue, for example.
I just got a new job and needed some clothes. For my birthday and "congratulations" gifts, friends and family members helpfully gave me gift cards to just about every "normal" store out there, from Ann Taylor to Target to Banana Republic. I scooted in, bought a few things and called it a day. It was stressful to have so many choices.
The upside is that I can find lots of good deals at this size, especially on clearance. Very nice sweaters for $9. Gorgeous, tailored-looking dress pants for $10. I remember the bad old days of being held hostage in fatty prison--where you could buy a plus size sweater for $50 at Lane Bryant ON SALE.
Sigh,
Nicolle

Good Morning, I am one of the lucky ones that has the day off.The bad part is that I would of been working in town today, and tomorrow I have to drive.
I run hot and cold on clothes shopping. Depending on what I need at the time, it makes the trip good or bad. One thing I hate shopping for is shoes. I can never walk into a regular shoe store and buy, since I wear a size 12. That is one thing that hasn't changed with the weight lost.
My bathroom sink is compleatly clogged. Hubert is going to get it unclogged this morning, and since everything is out of it, I want to condense what lives in there. I may get the bathroom closet cleaned out as well, since I do not have to leave the house today.
Have a great day, be safe, stay warm.
Huggers,
LISA

Lisa- I hear you on the shoe shopping. I hate shoe shopping. I wear a size 12 too. The only place that carries size 12 is Payless. I'm sick of Payless. The shoes are cheap and most times not what I wanted but settled because there was nothing else. I can go on line to places like Zappos and buy shoes but their shoes are a lot of money. At least around $50 for a dress shoe and most are a lot more than that. I would love to walk into Kohls and buy their cute shoes for $20!!! I also have to go online for gym shoes...if I want cute ones with pink or purple colors. Usually at the store I can only find manly looking gym shoes.

Crystal, you are so right. I even went to a New Balance store, and they were even going to have to order them.
I think the only payless left in this area is in LaSalle. And I hate going to the mall.
When we were looking for Monica's dress, we went to the Bridal
elegance store in Ottawa, and she found a dress she had tryed on at another store, for $50.00 on clearance. It was a $700.00 dress.

Good Morning Chris and IL!
Right now, as I look out the window at work, we are getting snow flurries...actually, it is starting to stick on the ground! Down this way, they are predicting a little warm up (36) and turning to sleet this afternoon....I think I'd rather have the snow! So just be careful, wherever you are.
Watched all the football games this weekend. GO BEARS. (sorry Christine), but it will be a good game next weekend.
I FINALLY got my Christmas tree undecorated and taken down. I had the rest of the house done, but kept running out of time and inspiration to do the tree. I had to laugh, I walked in the living room this morning, and Roxie was sitting, in the dark, in the exact spot where the tree had been. She looked like..."so where'd it go??" I laughed out loud.
Not much going on this week. Dinner with some friends tomorrow (weather permitting...we already canceled last week). I have the carpet cleaning guy coming Saturday, also. Now that Roxie is housebroken and Christmas is over, I figured it's a good time....plus they must be looking for business because they called me and said they are running a January special for $20 per room. Couldn't pass that up!!
One of my favorite things, too, now with the weight loss is shopping for "regular" size clothes. Really makes me feel good to get into misses sizes.
Well, everyone have a great day and great week. Lisa, enjoy your day off. Happy cleaning/organizing. I need to take a day off to just do that!

Good morning cyber friends,
I also finally took the tree down. This morning I had to finish vacuuming where the tree was and ended up taking the vacuum apart. All the needles formed a ball and clogged the pipes. Oh well, the joys of a real tree.
This morning, I am waiting on a delivery from bedding express. We bought our daughter a real bed. She was sleeping on a hand-me down water-bed. The paperwork said they would be here anytime from 9-12.
The snow is falling and looks so peaceful. My son has to work today, hopefully the weather will hold out for him and his driving. Since he received his license I never see him. He is just a ship passing in the night.
Christine, I so look forward to being able to shop in "normal" stores. I use to love dressing fashionably. Prior to the surgery, my wardrobe, consisted of sweatpants, pull on pants, men's tee-shirts and any other baggy;"I need to hid the fat" outfit. I have been fortunate to have received some free clothing in my current size. I have money from Christmas I plan to save till I hit my first goal size - 18!!
Hope all have a great day!!
Debbie
