Friday Roll Call

Happy Friday everyone! Back to work for me. We got all of Dave's pre op testing done yesterday including the mandatory patient/care giver seminar. Just a few more things to get like some aids to help him dress himself, shower chair, walker . . . and then his last doctor appt next week.

I have a kitchen to straighten up tomorrow before our party on Sunday. Davey is a messy cook.

Hello everyone

I'm sooooo glad it's Friday.  Today one of my friends from work is leaving (she got a new job), so we are having a going away party.  After work we are all meeting up at Cheddars to celebrate.  I have a appointment with my surgeon today just to make sure that pain is nothing.  So after my appointment I'm going to Cheddars.  I hope every thing goes well and it has nothing to do with my band....fingers crossed.

I lost another pound...it's only a pound but I don't care.  At least I'm losing.  

I checked my mail yesterday and there was a $50 check there from my PCP.  I apparently over paid him.  Then this morning I checked the mail and there was another $50 check from AT&T...I guess I never cashed a rebate check from 2005!!!  I am hoping this I check the mail tonight and there is another check!!! Hahahaha!!!!

I am thinking of Dave and his upcoming surgery.  I am sure that after it is over, he will be happy to be without pain.

Not sure what we are up to this weekend.  I have beef ribs in the oven for dinner tonight, then Liv is helping backstage at the school's variety show.  She was supposed to be IN the show, buther partner quit without telling her at the last minute and left her high and dry.

Tomorrow the boys have a Scout thing all day and we girls may try to get together with Amber and Riley.  Otherwise, there is an art show in Madison I'd like to see.  Sunday is football and the boys are going to a heavy metal concert with friends.

Congrats to Crystal on the $$ and weight loss!

Hi everyone!

No work for me today A big announcement today about our team structure. I am hoping that I stop teaching and move more into the field. I have been teaching for 3 years now and I'm getting burnt out.

The kids are off on Monday so I'm going to have a nice day with them since I go in on Tuesday!!!!!! The boys have wrestling on Sunday in Oak Park-which means I'm up at 530am and sitting on bleachers until 3pm. I can't wait.......not really! All that time and the boys have 9 minutes of wrestling to watch.

Tomorrow I have to do a Scentsy party. I sell Scentsy. The party is in WI so I can see my sister as well. My sister was told in Dec she has inflammatory Breast Cancer. It's very rare and goes straight to stage 3. She has had two treatments so far and just shaved her head since her hair has been falling out. So any time I can see her is a treat!

Christine.....don't know what your husband is going in for, but I hope all goes well. Plus your dinner with your family this weekend! Sounds like you have your hands full!

Crystal....hope your doc appt goes well and you find more money! When we bought our house 4 yrs ago, right after we moved in I kept getting checks-nicor, att, state farm etc. It was nice after putting a big down payment on the house!

Total L knee replacement on Jan 28th.

 My aunt had one in August and has full movement and is doing great!  She had one 10 years ago on the other leg and said the difference between now and then was extreme!  So much better now.  Good luck to him!

Jules, sounds like you have a busy weekend coming up. You too Christine,Good going on the surprise checks Crystal. Even if you had paid it out, it is like play money. You can spend it and noy feel guilty about it.

We have no plans for the weekend other then going to the high school booster clubs pork chop dinner tonight. 

I am hoping to get some housework done today, but already the gods are against me .

I did get to the store this morning, and some other errands, came home and started to

straighten a selve in the food cabinet, and it fell and broke the support, So, darling husband has been an hour trying to "fix " it so it doesn't fall again. Then I can finish putting away the supplies that I bought.

Hello Illinois!

Dave and Chris...good luck with the knee surgery.  I had partial knee replacement...I guess 2 years ago now.  Not horrible, but kinda hard to get up and down in the beginning.  When I had my band surgery,, I didn't take a lot of meds and the nurse said something about wasn't I in pain?  I said, it's not bad, I had knee replacement last year, which was worse.  OH!  she understood!  LOL.  My Physical Therapist always told me in the beginning, go ahead and take the pain med, don't let the pain get ahead of you, because then it is harder to get under control, so that is my advise to Dave.

Crystal, they say good things come in 3, so I'm hoping for a perfect Dr. report to go along with your money and wt loss!  Good luck.

Chloe is up for the weekend.  Nothing real special planned.  The churches in town are having a concert for our food pantry.  Each church in town has their choir do one or two numbers, so my church choir is doing that.  It is always good music and generates good donations and money for our local food pantry.

Well, not much else going on.  Hope everyone has a super weekend.

Georgie, that was what the seminar was about - equipment, pain management, care in the hospital, PT, skilled nursing facility and then home. He will have a nerve block for the femoral nerve all the time he is in the hospital plus PT will let the nursing staff know when they will be in for PT and the nurse will give pain meds before they start. The nerve block will not cover the back side of the knee. Dave is having 2 bone spurs removed there so he will have pain in that area. He will also have a PCA to administer pain meds. He will do okay because he is a compliant patient.

I had the spinal block instead of the tube down the throat anesthetic, (was still out, of course!) but supposed to be a little faster recovery time.  I had at home PT for about a week and the progressed on to going to PT.  Know all will go well....especially with a compliant patient!!
