2 Year Surgiversary!!
Hi Everyone!!!
Today I am celebrating my 2 year surgiversary! I can't believe 2 years ago at this time, I was having my gastric bypass procedure done!! Although it was a hard decision at the time with much research and communication on OH, I do not regret my decidion one bit!!! This morning, I put on a pair of jeans that I wore to the hospital and was astounded at how big I used to be.
I know that I am an emotional eater...so I try to keep that in check on a daily basis. Still working through the food issues. The support groups have been wonderful and I have also met many friends.
I don't believe that any of us have taken the easy way out!! The other day, someone suggested that I did take the easy way out. At first, I was on the defensive...but then I said.."You know what...if I took the easy way out then so be it...I am not lugging around the extra 130 lbs!!!" By NO means is bariatric surgery the easy way out...in fact the courage it takes us to have the surgery can never be understood unless you have gone through it yourself. I celebrate my 2 year surgiversary with you all!!
I want to thank everyone on OH for their past suggestions, comments, and feedback. This site is such a wonderful resource!! Everyone has been so positive and helpful!!
I have been on the plastic surgery forum lately. I am beginning my research for a possible tummy tuck. The hanging skin is not causing any medical issues...it is just unsightly! We shall see!! It is a scary thought...but I know that I can count on my fellow OHer's for their insight and support!!
Have a great day!!!

Thank you very much. I do intend on going to the presurgical seminar to speak. You and Dave were at the second seminar that I attended. Again....you were part of my successful journey!! Not only do I think that this would be helpful for the others contemplating surgery, but it could also get me over the fear of public speaking. =)
Thank you again!!!
