Dr said I can drive again!

I went to Dr for my 2 week post opt appointment and the hip is healing well. I can drive again as long as I am not on pain meds...I looked at the Dr and said I think I'm smart enough to know this and if I drove under the influence of pain meds...and got into trouble I'd lose my CDL...I wish I could go back to work next week...Moneys real tight because of the holidays..trucking is slow so very little money! Oh well! We will manage...I had a good holiday with my kids, but I was also very depressed for my mom and my sisters kids and husband...My heart its still braking for the lose of my baby sister....I have no one to share my secrets with or to rant with...I take each day and I tell my family each and everyone how much I love them!

Hubby got home too for Christmas this year, last year he did not...I think he loved the Kindle I got for him..I bought it back in Oct, so I'd have it...

Well I must get some shut eye! Have a Happy and safe New Years friends!

That is great news Karen. You won't feel as isolated now that you can drive again.

Congrats on the news about being able to drive.  Who would have guessed that a simple task of driving can be so liberating.  I personally love to drive.

That is amazing that you can drive again. I am going to guess that it is your left hip? When I told Dave just now he said WOW.

Yes the left, and I have not used the walker much I walk on my own. If I do leave home I do use walker but doc said I was healing very well!  Dave's surgery is coming up soon! He will be feeling better before he knows it...Prayers Dave to be up and about real quick, just follow the Dr's rules and you will heal quicker!

That is great news!  I know how it feels to not have the driving priiledges.  It is so frustrating!  What freedom to once again be able to run out and get something when you need it! 

I am glad your hip is healing nicely. 

Just remember that the first holiday is always the hardest.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thanks Nancy, I do know as the years go by it will get better, it was a hard family Christmas. I dreamed of my sister while in surgery and she was holding the hand of a little girl...I have tried to figure out who this child was and then it came to me...her daughter lost her first baby because baby was badly deformed...She was with her first granddaughter...this brings comfort. I have not told my neice this yet because I don't think she's ready to hear... It was real! She was telling me something though and I can not remember what it was, I know my heart stopped again during surgery and I believe she would not let me leave...She was smiling she's happy! Thanks for letting me tell this it makes me feel good!
