Thursday Roll Call

Good morning, Y'all.  I am back in Illinois after a whirlwind visit to Texas.  Lots of good eating with many friends and family.  Right off after having lunch with my DD we headed to a uniform store that has pants for big people at a very reasonable price.  Within fifteen minutes I had pants that fit me now, 54s and a pair of 52s hemmed to my leg length.   Somehow while going to many restraunt meals and family gatherings where food was still a major part I had to add two notches to my belt and lost seven pounds.  Every day I had eggs and sausage or bacon but not my protein drink so I fear I may have lost some muscle as well and so am having a drink in the evenings as well as in the mornings for a week.   My freezer is stocked with a collection of Chappell Hill Beef Sausage, Franks Red Hots, Alamo Tamales as well as sausages and meat from Pete's meats in Houston.   There is a Chicago brisket in the sink that will move to the fridge today which gives me a day or so to decide what to rub it with before I smoke it New Years Day.

Hello everyone

Oh I did not sleep well last night and now I'm paying for it.  I was awaken at 1am with the worst stomach cramps.  I had diarhhea really bad in the middle of the night.  That has never happened to me before.  It's probably my antibiotics or steroids.  It took me at least an hour to get back to sleep.  Then I woke up because I was cold and ended up with a charlie horse in my leg.  So needless to say I fell into a nice, wonderful deep sleep right when the alarm went off. 

I believe we have set a date to shop for wedding dresses!!!  Yeah!!!  It will be 1-25.  Amanda is getting nervous about picking out a dress.  She thinks she will have trouble making a decision...I told her this will be fun!!!  I am buying her wedding dress.  This is my present to her.  I told her to just keep the dress under $1000 because after you buy the veil, slip, strapless bra, and alterations it will cost another $500...at least. 

Nancy-  I read of your issues at work.  I have had an issue where my boss will tell me to do something and 2 months later will yell at you for doing it.  When I tell her she's the one who told me to do it...she denies it!!!  ARGGGG!!!!  I feel your pain.

Christine-  how did your day go with the snitch???

I have that happen to me with antibiotics also. Seems funny that a person gets sick from the drugs that are supposed to make us better.

Well, there you are young man - welcome home! You made a haul with meat from the market and new clothing. Great job on the weight loss.

'Morning all. Yesterday was not too bad with the snitch. She actually talked to me without her having a chip on her shoulder like she usually does after a disagreement but I do not trust her. Without consulting her I rearranged a spreadsheet where we log our accident reports into more manageble spreadsheets and placed them in a folder on the S drive. She wrote back that it was fine. Usually she will not say anything if she does not like something. When she does not like something she will let it stew and then the claws come out months later.

Speaking of meat - we bought a whole beef tenderloin at Caputo's yesterday and that is our treat to ourselves for the New Year. I Googled how to properly spice and cook it. After it is cooked and sliced we want to freeze the majority of it in small packages to have later on. Especially for something easy when Dave is recovering.

Not much else going on today as the weather is crummy and we do not want to go out tonight. Maybe I will have Take out Chinese and have them deliver it. The tree comes down in the next few days and put on the curb for recycling. It has to be out by Monday because that is first of two dates for pickup. I have many other things going on to get ready for the end of the month and inbetween that Dave's sister is flying in on the 14th late and leaving early the next morning. So the house needs to be spiffied up.

We had beef tenderloin Christmas Day.  It was cooked for a half hour at 500 then left in a cooling oven until done.

I will mention what you wrote to Dave and see what he says. We like our meat rare to med rare so your method is worth trying.

One question for you - what was the size of the tenderloin?

Christine, I hope today is better for you at work. The same for Nancy. We seem not to have a conflick at work. Of course, we don't have any bosses in our offices either.

I am at work, but we haven't had a client yet today. The day is so yucky, it doesn't surprize me.

Good morning all,
Not much going on in Northern Illinois.  My son was called into work at 2 so after I drop him off I will go to Jewel and find some yummy Jenni - o -Turkey goodies.  I am working on getting the protein in but with every drink making me sick it is a struggle.  When I was at Woodman's on the 26th, I found some Turkey Filet Mignon.  Each has 36g of protein.  This is by Butterball.  I am thinking once I am better able to handle more solid foods, that will be yummy.
