Wednesday Roll Call
Good Wednesday Illinois Friends. I can not believe I am starting the roll call! Awesome!
Well surgery went well. Going through all the heart test again.. Yep scared them. I now have one leg longer then the other. He had a hard time finding a cup small enough for me. He said I have real small bones. I also had arthritis worse then then the xrays showed he said I was in some major pain..Duh..thats why I went to see him!
I am going to see if I can walk more today because its hurts so bad I can barley move it!
My 3 grand kids came yesterday to see grandma and they all cried. They are not use to seeing grandma down. Poor babies..I told them by summer I would be able to play kickball again and to go bike riding with them!
Well hope everyone has safe commutes today when the snow starts!

Karen, Good Morning.
It is so good to hear from you. Even with all the health issues you have, you will still be a better you. Of course, that is why they call it "the practice of medicine".
Uff to work in a few, weatherman is saying 3 to 5 by tomorrow night. Thats ok, hopefully we all get home this evening before it starts.
Have a great safe day,
Huggers,
LISA

I made the White Chocolate Popcorn last night - YUMMO! It looks so pretty with red, green and white sprinkles. Man, that is a snack that can be made for Easter, Hanukkah, Halloween, Fourth of July etc. All you have to do is get sprinkles for those holidays or time of year. At the Fisher Nut store in Elgin I can get bulk colored sprinkles. Yesterday at Jewel I bought out the rest of the sprinkles for the Christmas colored bottles, TEEHEE!

Hello everyone
I'm glad you are home recuperating. I wish you a speedy recovery.
I worked out yesterday and I did 47 minutes. So I am slowly working my way back up to 60 minutes. Boy it doesn't take much to throw yourself off track. I still feel extra full all of the time. I'm not really tight, because I can swallow down those horse pills (my antibiotics) but I just eat a little and I'm soooo full. I think it's the post nasal drip. I am not getting many calories. The past two days I ate about 600 calories. I am going to start with the protein shakes again just to make sure I'm getting my protein. I'm sure once I'm 100% again I will be able to get my calories and protein in fine.
Well another fun day at work. My boss and I kind of got into an argument yesterday. She was really talking down to me in such a condescending manner. The auditors had questions about something on one of my balance sheets. She just assumed it was wrong and accused me of cutting corners and I got soooo mad I just snapped. She eventually saw she was wrong and apologized. Have I mentioned I hate my job....hahahaha. More fun today I'm sure.
Well back to work. Have a great day.

You sound like you are doing really good. Dave has been networking with a lot of people that have had joint replacements and the consensus is that the PT in the hospital and after wards is the key to recovering faster. As far as having one leg longer than the other my SIL's sister had that happen to her also. From what I heard for her it was the ineptitude of the doctor.
I have a hair cut after work and then I will take a swing by Staples for some nicer business paper to print our Christmas letter on. I want something a little thicker than copy paper.

The PT is really the key. Dave's friends are right. Insist on PT after hospital dismissal and do the exercises twice a day! It may hurt like heck but the more you do them the faster you get back to normal and regain the ability to bend than knee and have flexibility. No exercise = greater pain and less range of motion and more complications. Most of the people who have had complications are the ones that did not do the physical therapy conscientiously. For me I chose to go to PT so that I would be held accountable otherwise it hurts so much to do the exercises and easy to put them off.

Good Morning Karen and IL!
Karen, glad you are through with your surgery and can head on to the road to recovery. I had a partial knee replacement 3 years ago. It went fine, but can be a bit painful in recovery.
When I had my lapband surgery, the nurse said to me, you sure seem to be handling the pain well (I think I only had 2 pain pills) and I told her, "this is nothing. I had a knee replacement last year" She said she completely understood! LOL
Not much going on in my neck of the woods. I think it's bad when one begins to get excited about "high in the 20's"! Chloe has her first Christmas concert tomorrow night in Mahomet....so her grandma and I are planning on driving down, but I hear this AM that the central part of the state may have ice instead of snow....so we'll see how that goes. Hope we can make it.
Christmas is fast approaching. I had 2 days of vac left to take, so I only have to work next Monday, then off Tuesday through Sunday. We are closed all day on the 23 and 24th! YIPPEE!
Gifts to wrap and cookies to bake....it will all get done! Everyone have a super day.

Good morning cyber friends,
I think there may be light at the end of this tunnel. Today I woke up feeling a little closer to normal. My stomach is still very sore but it does not seem to want to rule my every movement today. Who knows maybe I will actually be productive today. We have nothing done for Christmas and I think it is time to get started. Oh well, better late than never.
I am still having issues with tastes, nothing just tasts right. I know this is temporary, but is so annoying.
Today is my 1 week anniversary. Last week at this time, I was in surgery. Oh boy how time flies.
Yesterday I thought I would just weigh myself on my WII and see if there has been a loss. Who knew, 10.5lbs!! Of course I am not eating as much. But a loss is a loss!!
Kare- I am glad you are up and doing better after your surgery. Good luck with the recovery process.
To the rest of you all, drive safe. Up in Lake, Co, there does not seem to be much coming this way.
Have a great day
Debbie
