Sunday Roll Call
Hello everyone
Well I am feeling even better today than I did yesterday. I was kind of complaining about how sick I got even though I have been working out, because I have read over and over about how working out is good for your immunity. I kept saying if it's good for my immunity how come it didn't help me. Well I can tell the difference in the recovery. I can't believe how fast I am feeling better. Usually, it takes at least a week if not longer for me to recover. In fact the last few times I got sick I had to take several rounds of antibiotics. Well I am a believer now.
I am looking forward to working out Monday. I will take it easy and slowly build to my normal workout. I will let my body decide how hard I workout.
I do have some good news about my daughter. She called me to tell me she got a new job. It's a job she applied for back in September. She will be the new program director for a nature reserve ran by Champaign County Park District. She is soooo excited. She was worried she wouldn't find a job with her degree. I knew she would find something. She is a very hard worker. Yeah Amanda!!!
The weather outside looks frightful but the fire is so delightful, if we have no place to go Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....I love that song. Be careful if you decide to venture outside. I'm sure the roads are slick. It's supposed to be very cold too, so bundle up and stay warm. See ya later

Good Morning,
My nose is cold, so I am writing in blue. As I sit here, the snow is falling and blowing. Me staying inside today. There is no place I need to go.My only plan for today is laundry and making a chicken dinner. I do plan on working on the treadmill this morning too.
Crystal, I am glad that your Amanda got the job she wanted. Also that you are feeling better. Now, don't go and get sick again!
Please stay in today if at all possible. This is going to be a wicked day.
Tomorrow I do need to drive to Rock Falls. We are having the annual Xmas potluck at our main office. Plus, i can pick up some supplies that I am needing.
Huggers to all.

Happy Sunday. Well, I am getting my bfast in and then I will finish looking for some pictures that we had taken in the Dells during the summer. I need to scan it so I can add it to our annual Christmas letter. One always PUTS things in a certain place for when you really need it . . . I decided to be venturesome and see if I could figure out Microsoft Publisher. So far it is easy. If one knows anything about documents with Microsoft then you can figure out Publisher.
Talk at ya's all later.

quote from Friday Roll Call "You know I am kind of disapointed because I have been working out like crazy for more than 2 months now. I read that working out helps your immune system. I was thinking that when I got sick that it wouldn't be as bad as it usually is because I am living healthier now...I guess not. I am bummed. It hasn't helped my immunity at all. "
Crystal, yes exercise does help the immune system but also what might have happened to you is that your immune system might have been attacked by the stress that you face with your work. Stress lowers the body's ability to fight off illnesses. Like you said today you are going to go back and start to exercise again taking it slow. Here's a link with info on the immune system and stress. http://www.stressaffect.com/how-does-stress-affect-the-immun e-system.html
Consider taking (if you are not already) an additional supplement of zinc. Shaklee has a supplement called Immunity Formula I and it has in it zinc, sustained release C, E and Beta Carotene. Shaklee also has a product called Defend and Resist and basically it is a product like Airborne or Zicam, naturally to be used with the first symptoms of a sickness comes on.

As soon as I felt my throat get itchy last weekend I started with Zicam. I guess it didn't help much. But I am going to look into the Immunity Formula, I used up all of my vacation time and it will take me awhile to build my time back up. So I can't afford to get sick anymore. Thanks for the info. And work last month was more stressful than usual, with that whole issue of my friend and the sexual harassment. Ugh!!!! I was so stressed out. I am sure the working out helped out a lot.
Good Morning.
Had to run to the store this morning because I did not have my main ingredient for dinner today. It was one of those things that you get a taste for it and you have to make it. I am futher south than a lot of you so we are not getting as much snow but the wind is horrible. I almost was pushed over by it trying to get back to my car.
Wondering how and when my daughter will be home from her dads today. So far no calls saying they not coming.
Finished all the candy making that I am going to do. Waiting for Morgie to get home so that we can make a batch of cookies together.
Something just blew over outside! Not sure I want to look!
Crystal tell Amanda Congratulations!
Have a wonderful day.

Good afternoon Everyone!
What a day outside! Glad I am hibernating inside and not planning to go anywhere. I am still in my jammies and I think I will stay that way for the rest of the day. At least we are not in Minnesota where they got almost 2 FEET of snow.
I sure would not want to deal with that!
Crystal, I am so glad you are feeling better! I know it is not fun to be sick or to miss work, but glad you stayed home through Friday so you could kick that bug where it needed to go. Congratulations to Amanda on her new job! That sounds like an awesome position!
Lisa, be careful driving up to Rock Falls tomorrow. Be sure to check on the roads before you leave. With all this wind, they may not be cleared.
Monica, I hope your daughter makes it safely home today. Morgan may have to spend an extra day at her dads with this weather.
Christine, I love publisher! You can do so many neat things on it. Enjoy playing on it.
Everyone have a great day!

Good afternoon Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
I am so glad to hear you are feeling better, Crystal. I am too, only tired. I might even have a nap here in a bit.
Well.....my "blockage" turned out to be a false alarm. After much emotional upheaval and worry, it turns out that I have a bladder infection and the norovirus (stomach flu). Just as I thought last Tuesday.
Unfortunately, I was sent to the ER in Madison since the doctor I saw on Tuesday and Wednesday mis-read the x-rays. They must have mixed up my urine with someone else's too, I guess. I don't know WHAT happened, but I am glad that I am not writing from the hospital after colon surgery as I thought I would be by now.
It took an hour an a half to get up there, then 3 hours to be seen. 8 hours after the whole thing started, I was told that the original x-ray only showed "possible fluid build up in the colon/rectum" and my system is/was clean as a whistle! There was NOTHING in there! My urine test was positive for all signs of infection. So......the doctor in Freeport made too many mistakes for me to be able to trust him again. Now, I have to go back to finding a new PCP.
What a drama! Good news is that I am going to be fine and I was doing exactly what I needed to be doing to keep my colon from getting "stuffed up" (so to speak).
My boys went out yesterday and cut us down a beautiful tree and brought it in today. I would like to get some of the work done on it, but maybe after my nap.
It is very windy out here and the snow is blowing. the temps are to drop way down and evening events have been canceled. My family has gone into Rockford for a Boy Scout activity but I am staying home.
Thanks all for the concern and support throughout my drama and everyone have a wonderful rest-of-the-day!
