Georgie,

Your post sure brought back memories.  I had a collie that looked identical to Lassie.  He hated the rain and snow.  Whenever the weather was bad, you would find yourself standing out in the pouring rain or snow getting drenched.  Meanwhile, the dog was safe and dry in the garage with a look on his face that said "Don't even THINK that I am going out there!  I am not dumb enough to get my beautiful fur wet.  I am NOT going out in THAT!"  After about a half hour and a good soaking you would finally give up, decide the dog was spending the night in the garage and resign yourself to cleanup duty the next day.

Good Afternoon cyber friends,
I made it home!!!  I am so happy to be here.  My surgery went well, all done laprocscopy.  I have 8 small insisions that are still sore.
I am on the clear liquid diet till sunday.  The paperwork says 4 days but I really do not think Wenesday counts.
I was scheduled for 8:30 am and I was in recovery by 11:00.  The doctor told my hubby that everything went  textbook.  I can remember after surgery when my hubby came to see my in recovery asking him if it was too late to change my mind!!  Right!
I finally was given a room around 4 pm. Long time in the recovery room.  When I went in the room, I needed to use the bathroom so bad.  I was talking to the nurses and must have passed out for a bit.  Did not wal****il later that night, due to the passing out incident.
Yesterday I was so sore.  I walked every 2 hours and did my breathing.  That was not easy. Taking those deap breaths hurt and they still do.
So today I am home, tired but happy to be here.  I have my fluids and will begin my protein drinks later tonight.
Thank you all for your kinds thoughts and wishes.  Now, time for the next stage!!

Well, look who checked in and so glad that you did.

Try if you can to hold a pillow with one hand over your belly and the other hand has the spirometer, it may help.

Debbie,
Welcome to the losers bench. If you have any issues, please feel free to ask. There is always something that you either forgot to ask, or didn't think about.

Hugs,

Glad you made it home...as they say, there's no place like home!  Just so much more comfortable being in your own space.  Take it easy and don't overdo it!  Congrats!

Good Evening Everyone!

Debbie so glad that you are home.  Relax and enjoy your journey!

Hope everyone else gets better soon!  I just finished a 4th round of antibotic for a sinus infection that started in August.  Just went to the doctor again on Tuesday for it because my ear still hurts and now they say I have fluid build up but no infection. Take Clartin.

Scott and I are going to see "Holiday Inn" tonight at a restored 1940's theater in our twin city Normal.  (Yes, I live as close to "Normal" as I can get here in Bloomington!)  Last weekend we say "White Christmas".  Love the classic holiday movies.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Hey Monica, I know that little theater!!  It was there when I attended ISU for a year in 1970 (now I'm dating myself)  Glad to hear they restored it because it surely needed it!  LOL  Enjoy your movie.  Should be fun.

 Good Evening Everyone!

I hope all those in sick bay start seeing improvement soon.  Dawn, if you do not see any improvement by tomorrow, please head to the ER.  Select a hospital that will have a gastroenterologist on their staff.  This is nothing to mess around with.  If there is a complete blockage, it can be fatal!  My mom and my best friend both had surgery for blockages.  You do NOT want your colon to rupture!!!

Crystal, I hope you are feeling better.  Have you tried the musinex?  I get bronchitis all the time and it really helps bring up all of that stuff!  Since you are on an antibiotic for strep, I imagine the dr would not change your antibiotic -- maybe the dosage.

Monica, I hope you get better soon as well.  Have you been to an ear, nose and throat doctor?  I saw one for the first time a couple years ago and found out I had a chronic sinus infection.  He actually scoped my nasal passages and that helped so much!  Wasn't pleasant, but definitely got rid of the infection.

Debbie, glad you made it through surgery ok.  I was sore for about a week.  The pillow helps greatly.  Take it easy and dont try to do anything!

Christine, I have always wanted to go to the Christkindl Market  It sounds so neat.  Lucy, I hope you get to go to your program this weekend.    Georgie and Lucy, good seeing you.

Batten down the hatches everyone.  It sounds like a doozy of a weekend.
