Good Morning,

I have all my cookie stuff out, and will finish baking today. Wwrapping and buying gifts is finished. The only 2 things left to do are mailing some stuff to St. Louis, and making Chocolate covered popcorn..

What are your plans for today?

It looks to be a mixed bag on weather this weekend. Just be careful if you are going out.

Yesterday, I went for a MRI on my arm. It took just short of 1.5 hours. Of course, no results until late Monday.

Hello everyone

I am so happy I think I am getting better.  I woke up this morning for the first time in a week I was able to breathe through my nose and my throat didn't hurt.  YEAH!!!!  I am so glad I took everyone's advice and didn't go to work yesterday.  I am thinking by Monday I will feel much better.

Well I had some excitement last night.  If you read my Facebook page you know I almost had a fire in my apartment.  I was in my bedroom when I noticed that the lights on my Christmas tree were off.  So I went to see what the problem was.  When I walked in the room I noticed that all of the electric was off in the room.  So I went to the circuit breaker and reset it.  It then went off again.  I thought that was weird.  So I went back into the living room and this time I noticed a smell of burnt wires.  I kind of panicked and got my flashlight.  It was hard because my nose was so stuffed up but the smell was strong enough.  That's when the fire alarm went off.  The smell was coming from the electric blanket.  So I unplugged it.  Reset the circuit breaker and it was fine for about 10-15 minutes and it tripped again.  This time I heard a pop noise and then the smell again.  So I unplugged everything from the outlet and reset the circuit breaker and this time it was fine.  I called the landlord and they are coming today to fix the outlet.  Boy I tell you I was thinking a fire was going to start.  I was ready to call 911!!!

Never any dull moments at my house.

Well I hope your MRI comes back fine Lisa.  I hope everyone has a nice day and if you go out stay warm and be careful on the roads.

Happy nasty weather Saturday. Looks like the weather people finally got this forecast correct. In my area the rain is supposed to start at about 1pm.

We unfortunately have to go out today. Not that service to our church is bad but we are serving dinner to the stage team tonight. When we get home we have a neighborhood party 2 doors to the south of us.

Crystal, happy to hear about you getting better and so glad you were on your toes with the electrical issue.

Lisa, chocolate covered popcorn sounds interesting. Look forward to hearing the results of your MRI.

Good morning cyber friends,

Lisa- all that cooking sounds great.  I have not even started Christmas yet.  I am hoping to this week.

Crystal - you sure lead an exciting life.  I am glad you are feeling better, but the almost fire!  WOW!

Christine - be careful on your travels today.  Who knows how bad it will truely get.

As for me, I am having my breakfast as I type, 1/4 cup jello and 1/4 cup juice with equal parts water.  I was worried that the 30 minute time frame they wanted me to eat in would be unrealistic.  Ha!  It has been 20 minutes and I haven't even made a dent in my food.  So the question, do I force myself to eat all or do I just stop and wait till the next small meal.  I think I will wait.  I can tell I am going to have issues getting the fluid in.  Nothing is tasting just right.
I tried my first protein drink last night, 100% Whey protein, I think it was Designer's Choice.  Vanilla made with 8oz fat free milk.  I did not care for it.  I am going to go to a Vitamin Shoppe in Vernon Hills, and check out the various Isopures they have there.
So to all my friends, how do you get your protein in?  I know I will get more in once I can start on yogurt on Monday, but what kind of drinkable do you use?  I look forward to hearing all your suggestions.
Have a great day!!
Debbie

Debbie,

Don't be to concerned with getting all your protein and water in. You just had your surgery. It will come in time. Just stick with what you can eat.

Hi Debbie,
So glad you're feeling well enough to be on the computer.  That's a big step!  My surgeons office told us to just stop after 30 minutes and wait till the next meal.  Who would believe we couldn't even finish 3 tablespoons of pureed food?  It will get easier, just need to be patient.  I must have had plenty of reserves in my body because it didn't bother me.

Not sure if you belong to Costco or not but they have a premade shake I really like and it's 30g of protein.  It's Premier Protein Shakes in chocolate.  I still have one most mornings for breakfast.

Best of luck to you on your journey, you're going to love it!

Good Morning All!

It has started to rain.  All of our snow is now melted and the lake should be forming in the backyard any time now.

Working on Christmas stuff today.  Making some chocolate covered apricots and peanut butter balls.  Scott wants me to help him with his SiFi Tree.  (Its his own tree with all his starwars and star trek ornaments on it)

Staying in jammie clothes today.  Trying not to go anywhere but I think Walmart might be in the future.

Debbie,  I use Unjury for my protein.  I am able to drink regular milk so I cup of milk plus 1 scoop of the Unjury is about 30 grams of protein for me.

Stay safe today -No more fires Crystal! :)

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

Crystal,  I am so glad you are feeling better but you did not have to create a drama of an almost fire to celebrate!  Monica and Lisa,  you ladies are sure the bakers!  Any guest at your houses over the holidays are in for some real treats!   Debbie, take it slow on eating.  For the life of me, I cannot think of the protein I liked when I was first post op.  It was really expensive.  I had ordered a lo of samples. I had gotten it off one of the advertisers on here but I dont see it advertised any more.  I remember barely being able to eat the equivalent of a shot glass of jello newly post op.

I sure wish I could get inspired to work on Christmas things.  I have some shopping done and thats about it.  I keep looking at the calendar, going eek but no inspiration.  Got to get pkgs mailed soon.

Weather is nasty for the weekend so I am off to the grocery store soon as tomorrow doesn't look like it will be fit to venture outside.  My body is sure feeling these weather changes.  Would love to just stay curled up in bed but do need groceries and got to do laundry.

Christine, stay safe outside tonight.  Here it is supposed to be nasty freezing rain.

Everyone have a good weekend.  Stay safe, dry and warm!
