Tuesday Roll Call

Hello everyone

Well it's official I am soooo sick.  My throat hurts really bad.  I can't sleep (even though I feel so weak).  I just took a Vicodin hoping that will make the pain manageable enough that I can sleep.  I am also getting super congested.  I haven't been sick like this in a long time.  In fact not since before my band surgery.  So I have learned when I am sick my band gets a little tighter.  Between the extra restriction and my throat feeling like I'm swallowing red hot broken glass I am having problems eating.  I mostly drank protein yesterday and chicken broth and I had to force that.

At least my boss was really nice.  I asked if could leave early to go to Urgent Care and she said she was surprised I lasted as long as I did.  Urgent care was a big waste of time so I might call my doctor for an appointment.  I don't know if that is a waste of time too.  The doc at urgent care said he was sure I had strep but they were out of the rapid tests and he won't prescribe antibiotics without knowing for sure I had strep.  Which I understand in theory but when you are sick you just want something, anything that might make you feel better.  He also said I have a lot of fluid in my ears, so he gave me decongestants.  I tend to get ear infections every time I'm sick.  Ear infections are the worst.  The last time I had an ear infection my ear drum burst (the actual bursting didn't hurt, it relieved the pressure).  Like I said I would do just stayed in my cubicle all day and covered my face if someone came in to talk to me.  I hope I didn't spread it to anyone.

Well I will stop whining and try to sleep.  I hope everyone is staying warm.  Have a good day.  Bye.

Crystal, that stinks when you are sick and then you cannot get the drugs to help relieve it. I hope the decongestant helps relieve the ear infection soon.

I had my sister, her kids and grand kids over last night. We had a great time and the kids brought things to entertain themselves like Uno, school work and hand electronic games. But the kids mostly interacted with the adults, refreshing. I had told Dave that the TV was not going on at all because then people become zombies and do not interact with one another.

After work I need to get the lights on my little tree and then decorate it and that is about it.

Good morning cyber friends,
I am sorry you are so sick Crystal.  I hope you find some relief soon.
Well, today is it!  Today is my last day at wor****il Jan 5, 2011!!  I still have not heard from the docs as to what time to be at the hospital.  I hate not knowing.  I need to figure how to get my kids to school.  I am almost packed, some more loose ends to gether.  I need to get a couple more loads of laundry washed, while I can, before I turn the chore over to my kids.
If all goes well, I am expected to come home Friday night.  Of course, that night is busy.  My daughter has a gala (her drama club's formal) and my son is off to a concert in Milwaukee.  Saturday is not any better either.  I think what I am looking forward to the most, is getting what little energy I have currently plus all the new energy.
I have also heard people mention that as the weight comes off, they get colder.  Wow, to actually be cold.  Right now, I am ok, going outside without much covering.  Here I thought it was alll due to female changes.
Well, I need to get off of here and get ready for work.  Hope all have a great day!!

Tomorrow is the big day!    If you are like me at this point I could not sit still and was a cross between extremely excited and nervous and a tad bit scared.  This was the best thing I ever did.  You are in for the most awesome ride of your life!  Tomorrow you may wake up after surgery and think what the heck did I do to myself, but it is well worth it!

Yes, you do start getting colder after surgery.  I have now evened out and can wear normal clothes without feeling like I am stuck in a dessert or sitting by a fireplace.  Such a nice change.  I do still have to usually have a sweater at hand but now I dont get as cold as I first did.

Good luck tomorrow.  Hopefully someone will let us know how you did.  You are in my thoughts and prayers for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.  If you ever have any questions, just feel free to ask!

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I hope you are better soon, Crystal.  That really stinks.  I might call the regular doc.....it might be worth it to get help sooner.  Plus, it is best to have one doctor follow all your health issues so that they can get to know YOU better.  Especially with ear problems.

I am taking my own advice.  I called the doctor that I have been thinking of trying as my new primary.  They are getting me in late this afternoon as I am sure I have a UTI and might have a sinus infection.  Although my sinus discharge is still mostly clear, I find it hard to believe that it could literally just sit on one side of my head for almost two weeks with no change.  Either way, I will get to meet this guy and see what I think before committing to making him my primary.

Debbie----good luck tomorrow!  I will be thinking of you and am sending great thoughts for an uneventful surgery and quick recovery.  YES......after surgery and the weight starts to drop off, you will probably be FREEZING.  I am 4 years out and still need Under Armour in this weather to keep comfortable.

Besides that, there is big drama going on with my middle school drama group.  I may be graduating to the high school group soon!

Everyone stay warm and safe and have a spectacular day!

Tell someone that you love them!

 Good Evening Everyone!

What incredibly busy days I have had!  I cant believe how busy we are at work.  Just like the weather change the work load changed overnight.  Now there is not time to even take a sip of water between calls.  I just want time to come up for air!    By the end of the day I can barely talk.  You cant please me.  lol.

It has been a good two days those.  I had one customer ask to speak with my supervisor to give a complement about my service yesterday and then I came home last night and opened my email and found out that I had been nominated as  "employee of the month" for the company that I do my check classes for.   One of the participants nominated me.  I am touched.

Crystal, I am so sorry you are so sick.  That is not good.  I would suggest you try some Musinex with the decongestant to help clear up your head and ears.  I always keep it on hand and it works really well to dry up some of that extra yuck.  Friends that I have suggested it to also like it.  Also I love hot lemonade when I have a sore throat.  Hea****er and lemon juice and honey in the microwave and enjoy ,  Thats the advice from Dr. Mom.

Dawn, as soon as you stated issues with jr high kids I will guess 8th grade girls.  They can be so petty and mean to each other.  I love that age but boy do they really have it in for others!  How kids survive that year is amazing!

Christine, I am glad you had a good visit with your sister and her family.

Everyone have a great evening!
