Hello everyone

Boy that went fast.  I can't believe that Thanksgiving came and went.  I can't believe my 4 day vacation came and went.  Now I'm back at work....soooo sad

I was bad this weekend I didn't exercise enough.  I probably gained weight.  I didn't check but I'm sure I did.  Well back to the gym today.  I would love to be lazy.  I got most everything I wanted to get done this weekend done.  I'm completely ready for Christmas.  Anything I do now is extra.  Did anyone get any great Black Friday deals?  I didn't need anything.  I almost always have most of my shopping done by then.  I did go out to run some errands and the stores were pretty empty by 5-6pm.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and I hope everyone has a nice Monday.

No deals for this girl. I refuse to go to any store on BF. I did not even shop on line due to the fact that I was on a public WIFI and did not want any info stolen from me. I only have two more small gifts to get and I am done. I also need some boxes from Card Party or other store for all the kid's loot that they are getting on Christmas Day.

I have a physical after work - stress test and heart echo and then off to Target to get the things above. Then when I get home I will pull out a few decorations to put out. My sister is coming with her kids and grandkids next Monday for a chili dinner so I want a few things out. I think that I will have to wait on buying the tree until next week as I am full up with things going on this week.

Good morning Crystal and IL family!

I had a great holiday weekend. My best friend and I went to the Blue Chip and went to a concert called Abba Mania. Of course, it wasn't the real Abba band. They were so good! We had a great time. Played slots and won a small amount - so at least I came home with my original money plus some!

I think I am going to have my labs drawn on Wednesday. It's a long list of tests.

At my fitness center, they are having a contest for those who want to try to be a contestant in their program, Win it and Lose it. It's a combined exercise and nutritional program. I entered it yesterday. If I get selected, I get 6 months of free training. If I win the contest - the most lost in 6 months and percentage of body fat - I get free lifetime fitness. It will be tough - similar to the Biggest Loser contest but I am up for the challenge!

It's a long work week but we'll get there and look forward to another weekend.

No shopping for me!

Have a great Monday.

Hugs,
Lucy

They let you compete in the contest even though you had surgery.  I ask because at work they had a "Biggest Loser" contest and I couldn't be in it because I had surgery.  People said it was an unfair advantage.  Maybe they don't realize how hard it is for me to lose weight...even with the band.

Yes, it is all about getting healthy no matter your history. And, since I am not a virgin DS - I am losing slowly. So I am much like the other contenders - that is if I get in!

I am trying to balance between the nutritional aspect and the exercise aspect of my life. I think this contest would help me, that is why I have entered into it.

We'll see what happens.

You know I tried to explain that I was a 1 1/2 years out from surgery and I lose incredibly slowly.  They still wouldn't let me join in the contest.  But you know people just have this idea in their head that you get WLS and sit back and watch the weight melt off with no effort.  I wi**** was that easy.  But anyway I was still banned because of people's preconceived notion, rather than the reality of WLS.  I just get annoyed when people just assume that I am not even trying and the weight just comes off.  I don't know if you ever run into those assumptions?

funny thing is I kept track and I wouldn't have won the stupid contest so they worried for nothing

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I had a LOOOONNNGGGGG weekend and am also a bit sad to be back at work.

We visited with Todd's family on Thursday, buried Amber's Grandpa on Friday, had a fire Saturday night and had Amber's family over yesterday for a big ham dinner.  We had the grandkids all weekend too.

No shopping for me at all.  I have been picking up things online here and there and am making some home made lemoncello and such for gifts.  I have to get some other gifts for the kids and I should be set.

We don't really do anything "Christmas" until AFTER Todd's birthday on the 5th.  I made him a promise when we were dating that I would never lump his birthday in with Christmas.  Some years it is harder than others to keep that promise.

Everyone have a lovely day!

Good evening cyber friends,
Well I am offically on the count down.  I am into single digits before my surgery.  I am SOOOO ready to have this wait over.  I know the road will be bumpy once surgery happens, but I am just so anxious to get going.
Today at work, I had people comment on my weight loss.  Of course I do not see, I am too personal when it comes to my weight and looks, but they do.  I am lucky/blessed to be getting such positive support at work.
This evening was difficult for me.  I was cleaning the dishes and putting away the food and I just wanted to eat.  My son, who is 16, can be very challenging right now and I felt the urge to stress eat.  The pull was very powerful.  Instead, my daughter who was cutting a cucumber yelled as I stole a huge chunk.
Now, I am just going to work on some laundry, write some lesson plans for my leave and just relax.  Hope all have a great night.
Debbie
