How long for medicaid approval?

I've already done almost all of my pre-op stuff.  The only big thing I have left is the psychological evaluation and that isn't scheduled until December 28th.  I'm really hoping they call and say to come sooner!  I was originally slated for around the first week of January, so it theoretically still could happen if I get the psych clear fast and get insurance approval.  I go back for my pre-op appointment on January 5th.  D

oes anyone know how fast Illinois Medicaid is at approving WLS?  I'm a student and classes start January 18th.  When I first saw my surgeon in October, there seemed to be no problem with getthing this done between semesters but now I'm really getting worried.   My kids go back to school the first week of January, so it's going to be hard enough getting them there, two can ride the bus but I have to drive the one in pre-k.  As long as I can get surgery before my classes start, I think I can make it work.
