Hello
Hello all,
I am new to the site. I had the WLS 2/3/10 and so far I am down 90lbs. My weight loss is starting to slow down. Is that normal? And does anyone else have a problem eating fruit. I have tried apples, oranges, plums and bananas and I get them half way down before they come back up. Any help for a newbie.
Just looked at the before and after pics posted and you all look good.

Nice to "meet" you and welcome to the IL board.
to you for your weight loss. Yes it could be normal to slow down a bit and it also all depends on how much you have to loose. For you to get it moving again in a downward spiral it would be helpful for you to up your exercise, type and intensity. It would be helpful if you update your profile to what kind of surgery that you have had so then the members that have had that surgery can chime in.
I never have had a problem eating fruit other than if I ate it too fast and too much of it. If it continues you might want to talk to your NUT and doctor for suggestions because fruit is an important part of the human diet.

Im sorry I had laproscopic RYN. After I posted I continued to look for the info online about the fruit and I think it may be because of the sugar. I was also told to try to peel fruit like apples and such because they are a little harder to digest. I had been exercising at home but recently joined a gym. Thanks for answering my question ladies

Hello welcome
Sounds like you are doing well. Yes it is normal to slow down or even stop losing weight for a period of time. After months of frustrating stalls I finally got off my butt and started to work out and I lost 16 pounds last month. So Christine is correct that excercise is key. If you are already exercising maybe you need to up the intensity or the amount of exercise.
Not knowing what surgery you had it's hard to answer your question. I had Band surgery and I have trouble with raw fruits and vegetables. I can take two bites and feel so uncomfortably full. With RNY surgery I think some people have problems because fruit has sugar in it and they might dump. So I think it's a common problem with some of the surgeries.
