Need a new nut - any ideas?
I started the program there recently and was concerned about the comment that a 'flintstone vitamin' was sufficient. When I brought up the fact that wasn't reccomended and proper supplementation it was just glossed over and moved forwarded in the class. While i believe that the NUT in question really does want the patient to succeed I just question the point of offering advice that seems to contradict basic common sense such as "Aren't flintstone vitamins for kids how can they be good for someone post op?"
Hi, Beth1010:
Sounds to me that you've got good instincts. As you move forward and learn more, you're likely going to want/need to ground yourself in basic nutrition info. It's a hell of a lot to learn, but here are some good starting points, imho, that other OHers sent to me:

Pour yourself a protein shake and sit back and read. :)
