Hi Janet,

I just wanted to say hi and tell you I will keep you and Eddie in my prayers.  So sorry things are so hard for both of your right now.  I know it is hard, but please try and take care of yourself, too.

Hugs and prayers to you.

Georgie

Happy Hallowe'en to all my IL family-I have been so busy since my last post getting all my ducks in a row w/Eddie and myself. It has been quite a whirliwind. We have been to Madison 3 times for consults and tests, it's as if they think I could drop everything and run up there on a whim. Getting the time off was a hair puller- my ex-Boss was not very supportive and the trip was exhausting for Eddie. That is an enormous place to navigate and he won't use a wheel chair. The final word is any surgery would be a crap shoot- going in w/no clear indication of coming out w/a functioning kidney and the odds of that happening were very slim. He would have to be cancer free for 2 years to have a new kidney transplanted-even w/his sister donating. She was willing to donate right now if needed, but they won't "waste a good organ" in him at this time. They give maybe 18 months on dialysis w/his underlying conditions so that's is out. He doesn't want to be on dialysis any way so we are taking the time he has and seeing where it takes us. We know the cancer will spread to his lungs, and brain. I decided that full time work was too much for me after they carted me out of work feet first again in Sept. w/a small brain bleed. My neurologist said my stress levels were way too high(go figure) and I gave notice and retired yesterday. I will do something part-time for grocery $$$ and stay home w/Eddie and make him comfortable and hopefully have more time to keep in touch. That's the condensed version-huge hugs to all and where is Dr. Rantis's office now-I need to get my band adjusted. If some one could give me his new address and phone # I would appreciate it. Luv ya all-Janet K

Janet, I saw your post on FB also but did not have a chance to post on it or at least say ((((HUGS)))).

Here is the link for Dr Pete's office. http://www.suburbansurgicalcare.com/html/offices.html  The new office is in Hoffman Estates at I-90 (the tollway) and Barrington Rd on the NW corner of the two roadways. You can also go see him at the Wimmer building next to Alexian Brothers Med Center. That is where Dave always goes for his apts. We just went there last month for his apt.

Keep us posted if you have time on what is happening with you and Eddie.

   to you my friend

Hello everyone

I am being such a lazy person.  I have done nothing really productive today.  I need to get off my butt and get going.

Yesterday, after a tiring week and an exhausting workout, I did groceries and ran some other errands, I came home and collapsed in my recliner.

Today after i force myself out the door I will go to JC Penney and Walgreens.

Nancy- It's funny you mentioned the bubbles because I have bubbles and a bubble gun at work.  We all play with it once in awhile.  It really does lighten the mood.

Janet-  I am really sorry to hear all of your troubles.  I will keep you in my prayers.

Carol- I have lived in apartments my whole adult life and would love to have some trick or treaters.

Well I hope you all will enjoy your day. Bye

Here's what I eat pretty much every day.  I am a pretty boring and picky eater so I rarely deviate from my menu of foods.  I change it up once in awhile but I pretty much eat the same breakfast and lunch every single day.  Dinner is always different but I will list some of my regulars.  I never snack in between meals.  I am usually around 1200-1500 calories a day.  This past month I have been very strict with carbs and fat.  Oh sometimes I treat myself with with Breyers carb smart ice cream bars (only 8 carbs).  The  only fast food place I eat at now is Chipotle and that is once a week.  I get the steak, bean, and cheese burrito (but when I get home I eat the inside and throw the tortilla away.  And of course I workout 6 days a week.  I do cardio and weights.

Breakfast- Hard boiled egg, 4 apple slices

Lunch- Low fat, low sodium, turkey- 4 slices, low fat cottage cheese, 5 carrot sticks

Dinner-  stew made with V-8
quesadilla, with ff refried beans with low fat cheese and 3 oz steak and green peppers
turkey burger (without a bun) low fat cheese, veggie soup (low sodium, no noodles)

Thanks Crystal...I noticed your eating 1200-1500 caleries a day. Have you been doing that all month?.....I'm totally confused...I get in 750-1000 calories...I know this as I have been tracking it...when I went to Dr. Joyce I asked about how many calories per day should be my target...he never really answered...just said less is best...I know I'm further out than you and I know I  have less to lose now and it gets harder to lose....but I'm just going crazy....see this isn't even making any sense....thanks for your info

I don't know why you wouldn't be losing more weight.  They say you should keep a food diary because maybe some calories are not being counted...like my Propel water is 10 calories per bottle.  That's something little but maybe for you it could be something more.  Also I eat very few carbs.  I started out just keeping my carbs under 30 per meal but  I notice  sometimes only get
20 or less for the whole day.  I also get a lot of exercise now.  I walk at least 90 minutes a day now and workout 30-60 minutes a day.
