Scope yesterday - question regarding WLS

Had my scope yesterday.  I do have a hiatal hernia.  Dr. Scott said he will fix it at surgery (vertical sleeve).  Everything submitted to insurance company on the 18th.  Just waiting now.  My question is:  Will having this hernia make the surgery, recooperation and overall weight loss experience any more difficult than without a hiatal hernia????  Thanks to all.

In a word - no. You will heal just as if you only had WLS and no repair for the hernia. I had one and so did my DH before our RNY's. We both have been without GERD for 7+ years. Our weight loss was fine also.
