You might have left for the hospital (you will then seen this later on) already but I just wanted to wish you luck.
As far as pain. I had open RNY and had the usual pain that is associated with having your gut cut open. I stayed ahead of my pain meds & did not over do it and was fine. I had nausea once I got back to my room but never had any vomitting from it.
Your medical staff and doctors will try all they can to make sure that you are comfortable and without nausea.
