Frustrated and barely started....(Long)

Aw gees. It sounds like you have lots to deal with. And U of C's strangeness is the least of it.

If your husband can start looking at obesity for what it is--an insidious killer--things would be easier for you. On the other hand, I'm sure he thinks smoking is bad...for other people. He magically will be "fine," right?

For help navigating the waters, check out the list of OH people I have listed in my previous posts who had the DS at U of C. I am sure some of them can help you figure some U of C-specific stuff out via PM or post something with U of C in the title on the DS forum. There's always the DS docs in the Peoria area, too, if California is out of the question.

Yes Nicole he will magically be fine. And not only that, he has the discipline to quit ANYTIME HE WANTS. (IM SO BEING SARCASTIC) And I don't have the discipline to properly diet and excercise. He actually says that, that he just CHOOSES not to quit at this or any other time but he could whenever he feels like. So therefore my inability to diet and excercise show that I don't have the imaginary discipline that he seems to have deluded himself into thinking he has! If that makes ANY sense to you. Anyways, I was totally unaware that there were DS surgeons in Peoria. We're actually in Frankfort, IL. Im not sure why the thing says University Park, anyways, Peoria is much more doable. I searched the Web for DS surgeons and in Illinois only the U of C comes up. I find the search engine here a teeny tiny bit more difficult to navigate than I'm used to. So again thank you so much, I have learned tons!!!

Oh and U of C did finally respond my email this am. The next appointments available with the surgeons are in Jan for Dr. Prachand and Feb for Dr. Alverdy. I pretty much ruled them out but for anyone interested as of this AM that is the info that I was emailed.
