Three Years

Boy, I could forget my head if it wasn't attached! I had my Lapband 3 years ago on the 17th of October. I don't know how I couldof forgotten it.

I have had my ups and downs with it, just like everyone else with WLS. But, I will say that the ups have outweighted the downs by the hundreds.

I still enjoy the satisfaction of looking good, buying clothes, feeling great, and all the other perks. I love when someone I haven't seen in a bit gets a shock  look on thier face, because they don't reconize me. I love being me.

This was one of the best gifts I ever gave to myself, and it will continue to give as long as I want it . I don't intend to ever return to my former self.

Thank you for being part of my journey. I am so grateful for all my friends who have been here for me.

Hugs,

LISA

You have done so fantastic. It only seems like yesterday that you first came onto OH. I have really loved getting to know you and I value your friendship - here in cyber land and in person at our get togethers.

Congrats on 3 years of success!  I agree......at one time, it seemed ALL we could think about was our surgery.  Now, we have our lives to think about.  That is a good thing!  It means we are LIVING!!!!

I too value our friendship and am very glad to have gotten to know you!

Tell someone that you love them!

Wow, Lisa, Congrats on 3 years.  That is super.  As Dawn says, we are all moving forward and living life, which I believe is a main goal for everyone.  I've enjoyed getting to "know" you online.  Take care and again, Congrats!

Good Morning Lisa and IL!

I have so enjoyed our OCT weather.  Not even upset about the rain predicted for the weekend.  We could use some rain, and I will use the time to do some things inside.

I really need to go shopping.  I have very few long sleeve shirts/sweatshirts, etc to wear to work.  I thought I knew what I was going to wear today (one of our work sweatshirts) with jeans for our Friday jean day, but TOO BIG.  So started pulling other things out of the closet because I wanted something long sleeve...too big, too big, too big...I think I tried on 6 tops until I "settled" on the one I am wearing...big but not huge!  LOL  Believe I'm not complaining, it is just amazing to me that last year, right at this time before surgery, these shirts fit..and prlby were actually a little tight!!  Nice feeling.

I had my eye procedure done yesterday.  It went well, and there was not pain, which is what kinda scared me.  Really blurry vision last night and kinda blurry today, but to be expected.  We'll see in 5 weeks if it worked.  He said we may have to do another.  At least this time I won't be as "scared of the unknown."

Well, I've rambled on.  Everyone have a super weekend.

Mom,

Its been 3 years? Can't believe that. I remember clearly picking you up from the hospital after your surgery. Yay!!!!!

Georgie, I had the same problem. 3 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts this morning before I found something to wear. I havent gone shopping yet but will have to soon. The jeans I found that kinda fit may not fit for much longer. It's a very good thing. I take that back. I have gone shopping -in my closet for the clothes I used to love to wear. Going to try and get some new things this weekend.

Love the cool nights and warm days. Heading out to a hockey game tonight.

Have a great night.
