Tuesday Roll Call
Good morning. It's a gorgeous morning here in Southern Illinois. I had to wear a jacket while waiting at the bus stop with my boys, but I love it. I have to go to school myself today and I have to avoid caffeine for the next 24 hours because of my stress test tomorrow. I'm so addicted to caffeine, this is going to be tough!

Home from work. Before I came home I decided that my desk at home was in need of a major overhaul so that is on the agenda for tonight. Plus I need to take some pictures of glassware and items that I am going to offer to co-workers - like Christmas plates and other decortive glassware that we no longer use. I have accumulated all this stuff from having Christmas parties. We no longer are going to have parties on the scale that we used to (150-200 people at our annual party). So out it goes to anyone that wants it. The rest of it will go to the charity resale shop. I am tired of pushing it around in my cabinets.

Good Evening Everyone!
I had a nice 4 day weekend and then today went back to the harsh realities of work. Our new phone system was on line today so I had to use it. I had a few glitches but survived. It is a learning experience.
When I got home tonight I had a call from my kidney doctor. They want to give me some iron transfusions. Oh joy. I have heard how horrible those are. But at least they are being proactive on the anemia and it will bring my iron levels up much faster than iron tablets. Now to figure out why I keep losing blood. Good question.
Not much else happening right now. I am enjoying the cooler weather. It still is nice out in the daytime and I can eat outside. Windows are still open so I am enjoying the weather.
Have a great evening!

Hi Nancy!
I actually "enjoyed" my iron transfusion. It was forced relaxation. I took some protein snacks (beef and cheese rolls, ect...) and a couple of movies. It did not bother me at all and brought my iron right up.
To KEEP it up, I take iron EVERY DAY at about 4 am, with Vitamin C but AWAY from everything else. Vitalady has a good "Tender Iron" that is chewable and also one in capsule form already mixed with vitamin C. I take 3 per day. I have also found a ferous fumerate at VitaCost....made by "Thonpson" called "Ideal Iron. These have 100 mg in each tablet, but I haven't tried them yeat as I am still working on my last bottle of Tender Iron.
It is not so much an issue of losing blood as it is an inability to absorb iron like people with "normal" digestive systems. The 3 per day insure that I absorb at least SOME of it.
When I got my transfusion, the doctor told me that I would NEVER absorb iron and to plan on having a transfusion 2-3 times per year. That was the ONLY one I have ever had....I proved him wrong by finding my own absorbable iron.
