Thursday Roll Call
Well, three more full days before my surgery on Monday. Just waiting here for my weekly phone conversation with my daughter, who's away in boarding school. I had thought I would be organizing the house and packing my bag. Nah. Too bushed. I'll do my final shopping tomorrow night then pack over the weekend, when my girl is home for another visit. Tidy up a bit, if I'm lucky.
I've been following the pre-op diet well, imho, but today the head-hunger triggers were popping for the first time. The colorful food ads, the juicy smells wafting from restaurants, etc., --- food all over the place, and I had to tamp down that instant compulsion to eat it all up. This is a good, and necessary, experience.
I'm stunned at how full and satisfied I feel on 800 - 1000 calories a day on this pre-op diet. I hadn't been able to get it under 3,000 a day since spring. I thought I'd just die with less. Now, I see: No biggie. (But, I better be able to eat when I get hungry or my head gets kinda wild inside.)
My big regret at this last point before surgery --- other than the fact that I made my own body obese through my own choices and habits --- is that I haven't been able to make myself do daily morning exercises. I really hope that I can get that new habit going as I start recovery.
Hope you all saw the super-bright Harvest Moon last night with Jupiter shining BRIGHT right under it and to the east. Magnificent!

I dont know about everyone else, but I hit my last snooze time on the alarm and fell back asleep.

Today was really busy at work and I felt like I was running all day. I also am on day 2 of my migraine. I broke down and called the neurologist for a prescription of a sample that she had given me. I picked that up this evening and the are EXPENSIVE! But I guess $8.00 to get rid of a migraine is worth it for one dose.
I went to the dentist after work and need to go back. I have a slight abscess on a tooth and he put me on antibiotics and needs to recheck it.
I am off until Tuesday!

Everyone have a great evening.
Monica, good luck on both the job and the test!

It is called Relpax (eletriptan HBR). There are 6 40mg tablets in the box. My neurologist had given me a sample when I last visited her. I happened to have a migraine that day. You take one tablet and 2 hours later you take one more. Migraine vanished! It is the first "instant" medicine that has worked for me. I have tried a lot of them and once I get a migraine NOTHING helps. I was surprised at how well this worked.
