Good morning Monica and the rest of Illinois!

I am working and my boss is back.....fun, fun, fun!  NOT!  We already got into it once this morning.  I wish he would just realize that I know my job VERY well and stop trying to tell me how it is to be done.  I have run this business from the beginning and now he has "ideas"!

I AM looking forward to Thursday.  I am taking half a day on Thursday and all of Friday off.  Todd, Amber, David and I are going into the United Center to see Roger Waters do "The Wall".  We are all very excited as this is supposed to be a "bucket list" kind of thing.  I just have to make it to Thursday..........

This weather is getting crazy....I can not tell WHAT to wear in the mornings.  I have shorts and a longer sleeved shirt on over a tank top and I am already warm.  I KNOW the air is not getting turned on around here!

Godd luck with the job and new addition Monica!

Tell someone that you love them!

Good morning Monica and IL friends.

I wish you the best Monica on your certification test and naming your pet.

Yesterday wasn't a good day for me. I was way too tired and then got bad gas pains. I went to my support meeting and wished I didn't. I left early since I wasn't feeling so good. It's a far drive for me too so that added to the tiredness.

Only 2 days until I return to work. YUK. I should have taken the 6 weeks off. I don't know how I am going to do it.

Need to do some housecleaning and wash today. Tomorrow I see my ortho doc for a follow-up on my right knee and then stop off at work to get my clearance to return to work.

Thursday I have my doc appointment with Guske. Praying that the J tube is coming out. Tomorrow will be my first month anniversary. YAY!!

WIshing everyone a good day today. Stay cool.

Lucy

When I walked in my building this morning it was already warm. Come to find out there is an issue with the HVAC since yesterday but that has been resolved. I feel bad for dispatch because they cannot leave the room except to go get lunch. We will be turning on our AC later to keep it comfortable to sleep then we turn it off during the day if it is cooler. We will see how it goes later on Wednesday if we need it. Probably will not be turned on because we serve food to the stage team in the evening.

So back home to the grind but only for 3 days this week. I go with Dave to a routine doc apt on Thursday. I think I am going to try and fit an eye apt in right after it so I do not have to go back out for it in Oct.

Disappearing Me

Hi everyone.  I went to school today.  I have to climb 2 flights of stairs to get to my class and it kills me every time, I'm so out of breath.  I'll be glad when I can do it easily!

I got some upsetting news yesterday.  I went to my PCP to get my referral for WLS and she was all for it.  Then, she pulled up my EKG from the Novasure I had in June and it said I had an anterior infarct.  She thinks I may have had a heart attack but I had no idea.  A couple weeks before that, I thought I was having gallstone type pain and it went away.  I mentioned it to my PCP before the surgery and she didn't think anything of it.  Now this.  So, she's sending me for a stress test.  I'm only 32 and hoping that for some reason it's just a bad reading because my OBGYN who did the surgery never said anything about it.

It said that there's normal sinus rhythm, so do you think it will hurt my chances of having WLS?  My first appointment with the bariatric surgeon isn't until October 29th.

I would not overly stress out about it.  You cannot change anything.  I have really cruddy ekg's that always stop doctors in their tracks but end up doing fine on stress tests.    Maybe it is more serious than I think but I have had an abnormal ekg for 20 years and nothing has happened.  My cardiologist gets all excited and then backs off after I have the stress test so go figure.  I just dont think those tests tell everything.  I had my surgery without any problems.  BUT if there is something that is wrong with your heart, it is better to get it corrected before surgery than die during the surgery.  Just take one step at a time.  This is the best health check up that you will ever receive so they may uncover some hidden things.

Good Luck!

Here I am, bringing up the tail-end again. I get personal computer time at night again, since my daughter started at bording school in August. Also, because I'm so close to surgery, signing on to OH makes me feel like I'm holding someone's hand as I go into the hospital Monday.

My nut said I'm following my pre-op diet fine. Today was very good with the food. I've switched from using frozen meals for L and D and now have the 4 oz of lean meat (+ the 1/2 c of veggies) for L & D. This switch has made my nut numbers better at the end of the day.

I've just put some of the common WLS books on hold at the library (for a second-reading). Figure they'll be in for pick up by my target discharge date (Thurs., Sept. 30).

Spending the week trying to get stuff in place at work so no one will freak when I'm gone for three weeks. I have the option for a fourth week, but my boss is not keen on that idea. Every believes (I hope) that I'm on vacation, not in the hosp/recovery.

I've lost about 47 pounds since New Year's 2010. So, do you think my co-workers will just think that I've now gotten serious about the diet/exercise, or will it be completly obvious that I've done WLS? Well, what will be, will be.
