8 years post op on Saturday
For those who don't know, I had my surgery on my real 42nd birthday. This year I turn 50. It is nice to say - I am healthier on my 50th than I was on my 30th.

Congrats on being healthieer and for the inspiration. I also find your "formula" very helpful. I get VERY confused as to what to eat and not to eat. It seems that everyone has a different opinion, but it is nice to see something that works long term. I need that little "push" right about now.....coming up on 4 years and starting to feel like I am "losing it".
Thanks again and Happy 50 and Happy Surgiversary!

Aw, that's sweet. you know the whole journey has not been uneventful. I have had ups and downs. but if there are a good therapist is very helpful.
Along with following my eating plan givenme by the dietician at my surgery center, I also had therapy and the book How much Does Yor Soul Weigh by Dorie McCubbrey was INSPIRATIONAL. It along with ttherapy gave me hope that I can be and can eat like a "normal" person. and I do - like a normal THIN HEALTHY person.
and I plan in an accasional cookie. and have less sided effects, enjoy it more and am more satisfied if it is a real one. No sugar alcohols. full fat. but not every day. I don't eat "diet" foods. I eat real whole foods, no low carb pasta , - real whole wheat or barilla plus, no fat free salad dressings, etc.
