Sunday Roll Call

Hello IL peeps from Hawkeye Land. We have one more day here then come home early Monday. First we will start out today with breakfast at Hyvee then we will see what we wnat to do the rest of the day before the "Balloon Glow" at dark

Dave has had a great time remembering while here in his hometown. We are going to try to get into the Granger House for the afternoon tea. I woke up remembering that we need reservations. We will see how it goes.

Hello everyone

Well it's back to work tomorrow.  I can't take my new medicine either.  I was trying tough it out thinking maybe it would eventualy be ok.  But after my second dose it was obvious that I can't take this medicine either.  I spent a large portion of my day sleeping.  So back to the drawing board.

I have no plans for today.  I think I will take it easy.

Crystal, wow. While I do not get migranes I do get an occasional headache that does not respond to Tylenol and I am miserable so I can "feel" your pain on a tiny, tiny scale.

edited to add - I am miserable on the pain side of it not the drug reactions side of things.

Have you seen a neurologist for your migraines?  I go to an excellent neurologist in Ottawa and I just love her.  She is so understanding.  I also think she would be really on top of what to give you since you are having reactions to so many meds.  Let me know if your are interested in her information.

Christine, it sounds like you and Dave are haveing a great time. I love  to go to that type of weekend too.

Crystal, I am so sorry that your new meds aren't going to work for you. I hope you find the right thing shortly.

I have a few things to do this morning before we head for Yorkville. Then, its back to work tomorrow.

can you believe? I called to schudule my yearly mammogram, and the earliest appointment after 2:30 is October 14th. I have never had to wait that long for a routine test.

Lisa, yes we are having a good time, though it is bittersweet because Dave's dad is deceased and his mom does not live her anymore. That would have been great if she would have been here to visit with also.

By the way the reason you might not be able to get in until the 14th is because October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The medical profession makes big pushes for women (and some men) to be screened.

Heading to Yorkville a bit later today. May stop by Dwight for the Harvest Days Celebration first. Went to Morton's Pumpkin Fesitival yesterday. Scott got some fudge and I got hot while walking around. It was very humid.

Heading back to work tomorrow. Have a new boss. Hope they have me put back on the computer system so I can do things as soon as I walk in the door.

Hope the back to work transition goes smoothly for you.

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

This is the lazy bug checking in.  I cant believe it but I slept 11 hours last night.  If it had not been noon I would have allowed myself more sleep.  I get that way when I am down a couple of units of blood.  No wonder it is so hard to drag my self out of bed in the mornings.  I think I will call the doctor tomorrow and ask for a transfusion or two.  

Christine I am glad you are having fun at Dave's reunion,.  What town is is in Iowa?  Take pictures of the balloon glow.  I LOVE hot air balloons and even took a class on them and was on a chase crew in my younger days.  If I had stayed in the suburbs I probably would have gone for my pilots license.  The guy I worked with was Steve Fossett the gentleman who went missing out west a couple of years ago.  He was the best in the business.  

Crystal and Lisa, I join you in the sentiments of  going back to work tomorrow.  My consolation is that I have a 4 day weekend scheduled starting this Friday.

The town is Marion, IA which is right east of Cedar Rapids (CR). Actually the towns touch one another. You do not know where one ends and the other starts except if you are on Rt 151. In one town you are on 7th Ave (Marion) and in CR it becomes 1st Ave.

Hopefully, the balloons will inflate and flame up. The weather is crummy here with drizzle and then rain. I have a camera that handles lighting such as fireworks so that should work for the balloons.
