Good Morning all you Sleepy Heads.
It is Saturday, time to get up and do something fun. Me, I am doing some housework, then going to Kmart. Maybe stop at a friends to see the new puppy. Then, do nothing the rest of the day. Yeah, right. I know something will come up to foil that plan.

Whats on your agenda today?

Have a great Saturday, stay safe.

Huggers, Lisa.

Good morning Lisa and Illinois!

I slept til 8:45...late start today....I have some old friends coming over that I haven't seen in 20 years....then off to see Toby Keith with my daughter. I'm hoping it doesn't rain as the tickets I won are lawn seats.
That's really it for today.

Welcome to all the newbies! You are in for the ride of your life!

Have a great day today!

Edited to add: I just learned Paulette's (coffeemate) mom passed away this morning. Sending prayers of comfort.

I know a few people who are going tonight too, but we are all in different sections. I won my tickets on facebook thru my car dealer.
I was told a few different radio stations were giving tickets and meet & greet passes too. I'm just hoping it does not rain.

Hello everyone

Well I went to my doctor's appointment and I loved him.  He was great.  He addressed my fears with the new migraine medicine.  He also talked to me about my struggles with weight loss.  Come to find out he wrote an article about metabolism and he gave me a copy to read.  He says as soon as we get my migraine situation taken care of we will focus on getting my weight loss going.  He is also sending me to get an ultrasound because he says my thyroid feels enlarged.  He really is a proactive doctor.  I have officially switched doctors.

I am now on Depakote.  I took my first dose yesterday.  Today I feel some dizziness and I'm wondering if that is my mind playing tricks on me.  Am I thinking I will be dizzy so I feel dizzy.  I don't know.   I will give the doctor's office a call see what they think.  The medicine Topmax and this Depakote they are both anti-convusants and maybe I just can't take these kinds of medicines.  Good thing I don't have problems with convulsions.

I did a lot yesterday and I felt great.  I went to do groceries, Kohls, Walgreens and Target.  I had no problems.

What's on your agenda today???  Have a great day.

Good Morning..
Its been storming here for the past 2 hours. My house was so dark inside it looked like night time at 9:30am. I am a newbie here to the board so I just wanted to take this time to say hello to everyone and wish them a great day.
I am looking to have either the RNY or VSG by the beginning of the new year, Hoping to start the new year with a BIG change. I have my 1st appointment with Dr. Christopher Joyce on 09/29/2010. Very excited and also very nervous about this. I'm looking for a list of questions that are good to ask on the 1st appointment. Maybe some of you could help me out with some since many of you have been through this already and have an idea about what questions need to be answered.
I am 52 years old have have been overweight ever since I started having babies and that was 34 years ago. I haven't ever been a small size (size 16/18) is the smallest  I remember being  at 6ft tall but now I am wearing at least a 32. I was always very active, running basketball, walking, bike riding but now my knees are bad and hurt ALL the time. Back hurts and everything else. Many of you know this story already.

So if any of you have any suggestions, questions, answers..I would love to hear from you. Even if its just to say hi.

Take care and have a great Saturday!!

 Good Early Afternoon Everyone!

I am finally up for the day.  I stayed in be until after 11 the morning but did not go to bed until 5 am this morning.    When I got on facebook last night I discovered that a good friend of mine in Scotland died suddenly.  He was only 52 years old.  I never had a chance to meet him in person but I had hoped to one day.  Eddie was a wonderful man.  He was so kind and always thinking of  others.  He became an amputee about 15 years ago due to a horse accident and started a group for amputees counseling newbies and offering support.  He invited me into his group and I have met many wonderful people.  He was always thinking of others.  He was in constant pain and I am glad that he is pain free now but very sad that the world has lost such a great person.  I cant stop crying when I think of him.

I started new meds for ADD and depression Thursday and could see a major difference on Friday!  Work went so much better.  I sure hope this is a permanent effect.  I am amazed at how fast it kicked in but I guess with an amphetamine the effect is instantaneous.   I wish my doctor had put me on it over 6 years ago when I asked him about ADD.  I did not realize that adults could have it until a friend was diagnosed.  It can go hand in hand with depression.  The nice side effect is I hardly ate yesterday so it is going to help me with my compulsive eating disorder as well!

Hugs to Pauline.

Lori, welcome.  May I recommend an excellent book?  I found it on Amazon.  It is WLS Surgery:  A Lighter Look at a Heavier Subject.  It was written by a bariatric surgeon so it is truly fact based.  Amazon has an amazing library of weight loss surgery books.  I found lots of helpful resources there.  I will try to hunt up my list of questions for my doctor and email them to you.

Have a good day.
