Tuesday is my bad news day. :( 

My pre-op labs came back. Results: positive for h Pylori & low iron. Now, they requested a stool sample, as well as a blood test that my google search reports is used to id Celiac or IBS. Lovely.

So, now they have to figure out if they have to treat the h Pylori or if it was pos b/c of hx of h Pylori.

The Celiac or IBS would be a shock to me.  Hope this doesn't lead to moving the sugergy back.

Sigh.

The ups & downs of pre-op life.

I am sure that you would know by know if you had Celiac disease as the symptoms are so profound. IBS is a little harder to diagnose. Many people have H Pylori & low iron. This is the time to get the later two taken care of before surgery. This is just a bump in the road and it will all work out.

You will pull through. I had to wait a whole year because of undiagnosed diarrhea (ended up being microscopic colitis). They nailed it down and off I went and had RNY. It was heart wrenching for me.

 I hear you.  It is so hard to hear something like this so close to surgery.  But it is better to get it taken care of before surgery than to have problems during surgery.  I literally went down to the wire not knowing if I was going to have surgery or not due to being low in red blood.  Finally I ended up with several transfusions 2 days before surgery and that allowed my surgery to be a go.  So hang in there,  All can still go through as planned.
