Thursday Roll Call
I ran out of energy last night and the bed was calling out my name so forgive me for not resonding to you last night. The life style changes that you are putting into practice were hard for me for me to do but once I was doing them for a while it became second nature. Just remember that it takes at least 21 days to make a change but studies have shown that it is closer to 3 months to implement them and make them a part of your regular routine forever. Do not be hard on yourself if you have slip ups. Just look back at why it happened and learn how to not do it again. Reward yourself with non food treats. Just remember that you have been obese for many years and have many bad habits that you cannot change overnight. Just take it one day at a time.
I was fortunate with my doctor before my surgery that he required a 3 month practice diet where I learned all the things that you are trying to do right now. So when it came time for the surgery and right after all I had to do was concentrate on the recovery.

Hello,
Just wanted to say hi. I had Dr. Joyce, he did my RNY in March. I really like Dr. Joyce and feel he really cares about his patients. I really like their program too, you'll find on this site that our diet is a lot more restricted than others but I figure our doctor just wants us to be very successful. So far I've lost 84 pounds and am 7 pounds away from my goal. I think you'll really be happy with your choice of surgeons. Just let me know if you have any questions. Also, you might want to come to the support group meetings they have, you'll learn alot both before and after surgery. They are on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm at the hospital. The September meeting is open forum where anyone can ask questions.
Best of luck.
Lynn
