Thursday Roll Call
Hello Everyone!!!!
Yes it is me checking in!!!! I apologize for being MIA, but between purchasing a house and all the fun stuff associated with it, there just never seems to be enough time in the day.
Lucy, glad to hear that you are doing better and that all went well with your revision.
Monica, I hated Speech class...But, glad to hear that yours went well. I have a strong dislike for Drs. who think that they are above all others.
Christina, sorry to hear that you are moving away...
I will try and check in more often.

Jazz, geese and a breeze on the balcony but I took some antiallergy so I will not sneeze. This is my heaviest attack since moving here. Most likely because we did a test bake of some kolaches this weekend and I tested a few myself. Back to meat, veggies and cheese for me.
Does anyone know where I can buy a whole brisket with the fat still on it without going down to Randolph west of Halstead.

Randy, the new grocery store, Mariano's in AH has a butcher shop in it. You might be able to get the cut of meat that you need. Also do a Google search of the area of Huntley, Hampshire and out west as there are butcher shops out in that area due to it being farm country. Also check with Dawn as she might know of butchers in the Rockford area.
try this link it has a list of a few butcher shops to the near west.

Paul, I hope you are feeling better (your ribs). Where are you and Liz gooing for your 6th Anniversary?
Monica G. I loved speech class in high school and in college classes.
Wendi, its nice to see you again.
Christina, have a nice time at your support group tonight, you to Christine.
Crystal, I am glad you had a restful day yesterday.
Nancy, I love comimg home and sitting out too.
Have a great evening.
Huggers,
LISA

Good night, Illinois folk...
I've been very mindful this week (at least more mindful than before) of the changes that have to start falling into place to be successful with my coming RNY. Like, being aware of the time (timing water, food, meds, vits, exercise, etc.), using a timer/watch with alarms, carrying water with me everywhere, stopping multi-tasking during "mealtimes," realizing I have to have mealtimes, figuring out what to do with myself if "going out to eat (at a restaurant)" is no longer my go-to activity, whippping up protein drinks, pureeing meat...
I'm just worried that all the new "ways" will not be habits before my surgery date. It's like I felt when I first started to have to use a home blood sugar test kit back in December. I felt all thumbs, got confused with the timing, didn't know what the numbers meant. Is all really stressed me out. Now, it's a rather smooth habit. Still don't really know what the numbers mean, but at least I know what's "high" or "low" for me.
I'm really counting on this new WLS way of life becoming second nature! Wonder how long that usually takes...
P.S. My favorite way of keeping up my pants while I've been losing weight (pre-op): medium binder clips (from the office). I just put a fold (like a pleat) in the waistband to tighten the waist, clip the band --- and I'm good to go (of course, I wear my shirt-tails out). Since I wear knit pants with wide elastic waistbands, this trick works great. ;)
