Thursday Roll Call
Good Morning all!
I am still nursing my bruised ribs from a fall I took on Tuesday night while playing soccer with Nic. I guess I'm not as young as I use to be! Hopefully, today will be the last day of pain. My new Kindle arrived yesterday and I am really excited! I started reading already and find it is everything they claimed. I only wi**** was back lit so I could read in bed with the overhead lights off. My little book light that I normally use doesn't work well since there are no pages to slide into. I know they make accessories for that sort of thing, but I hate to spend any more money. Now that I have my anniversary present (Saturday is 6 years!), I still need to think of what to get Liz. I keep asking her what she wants, but alas, she doesn't know. I'm sure I'll figure something out.
Tonight we are having some seafood in a tomato base that I made up the other night. It is great because it has a whole bunch of good protein and it ends up being very low in calories, This time around, I had so many tomatoes from our garden, I ended up making my own sauce. It should be yummy!
Have a great day and keep healthy!

I hope your ribs feel better soon Paul, that hurts.
I have the kindle app on my iPod touch and I love it. hey if you want a neat little story for you and the kids, go to Amazon and look up,
The Curious Snowflake, by James Struck
it's a great little story and it's written by my newphew (by marriage). he's a gifted writer and this is his first story that's been published.
(yes that was a shameless plug lol)

Bruised & cracked ribs take awhile to heal. I cracked two ribs 3+ months after my WLS by falling off of my bike onto the hard ground next to the driveway. It was close to 6-8 weeks before I could sleep on my right side.
I am also feeling for you today with a small bruise of my own. I tripped over an object while looking through a cookbook and walking into the kitchen this late afternoon. I swealed up so fast on my right wrist that I thought I broke a bone, which I did not do as I can twist it around.

Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!
I almost posted "Friday Roll Call" thinking no one had started yet today. Wishful thinking on my part, I guess!
Working today then home to sort through the tie dye stuff. I went to a couple resale shops last night and probably have enough stuff for the next 2-3 years. Oh well. I got a curtain panel and 2 swags, a couple of blankets and tons of shirts. All to go with my bamboo socks, cotton shoelaces and blank bandanas. I am planning on updating my bath rug as it is looking sad and it is 100% cotton. I want to get everything sorted and washed and tomorrow will make the dyes. So fun!
That's the fun in my world!
Everyone have a spectacular day!

Good Morning Christine and IL!
Are you enjoying this weather???? When I take Roxie out, early in the morning, I can't believe how many STARS are out and how beautiful they are. It is truly amazing. So different than when I take her out before bedtime.
I'm taking tomorrow off to go to Chloe's school for "grandparents and grandfriend day." Her grandparents are going down, too. I think I'll drive separately and then Bet and I will go shopping in Champaign and Jim can come back north. Should be fun.
Lucy, glad you are home. Paul, I've had tons of grape tomatoes, but not so much my others. Got them in a little late, I think.
Not much else going on. Prbly won't check in tomorrow. Have a super day and weekend!

Good Morning OH family
Let me just start be saying...UGH! I had a Dr's appt this morning with a new Dr (My old one that I loved quit) and this new guy..well can I just say he's a major ass?? I told him I wanted bloodwork drawnn so I can get on a vitamin regime and know exactly what I need and all. I even brought him the list of tests I wanted done and he basically told me that he is very much against WLS and he doesn't know why I'm bothering with bloodwork because my labs will always be off and never normal again! I demanded that I get the blood work done and did finally end up getting it. (7 tubes). Once I get these results back I will NOT be going back there again.
Sooo anyone in my neck of the woods (North Aurora area) that has a great Dr that supports their WLS??
After that I ran to Woodman's for dog food, then the gas station (2.69!) now I'm home and will be doing MicroBio homework before school tonight. My speech on my surgery went awesome last night and it made me feel really good when these two girls who were naturally skinny and beautiful both told me afterwards what an inspiration I was. :-)
Well sorry for rambling, but I know you guys understand how important our bloodwork is and I could complain here! lol
have a great day all!

Monica,
I agree...DO NOT waste time on a Dr. that you are not comfortable with! My PC is SO supportive and nice. When I go in his office and he sees how much weight I've lost, he always is so happy and encouraging. Don't put up with a jerk!
Glad your speech went well. Good luck with your studying today. I remember those days...hard to do sometimes, on such a nice day!
