Labor Day Monday Roll Call
Wishing everyone a Happy Labor Day. I am happy the day is here as tomorrow I have my surgeon's appointment and will be one day away from coming home. YAY!!!!!
We've been taking walks along the SF Bay. It is so beautiful and peaceful. There's a place to sit and relax and enjoy the view and fresh air.
I'm rocking my DS - it's turning out to be like NIcolle's so far. Rabkin is superb! For me having major abdominal surgery, I've been able to do and eat almost everything ahead of schedule without any pain or vomiting. Taking it in small amounts though!
I am gaining strength every day and do strongly believe that working out prior to surgery was a big benefit.
I was able to secure more leg room on my return flight from San Fran - getting the bulkhead seats. Tried to upgrade to first class but there is a long waiting list, so this is better than nothing.
No picnics for us today.
What are your labor day plans?
Enjoy the last holiday before Thanksgiving! Can't believe I am saying Thanksgiving.
Time for me to get more sleep.

I am glad you, Lucy, are doing so good. You will be home within 48 hrs.
It looks like it will be another beautiful day, once the rain scoots out of here. No plans here for today, except, a possible walk out at the park. Hubby working until 2 or so.
I do have a couple of things to do this morning, including getting ready for the work week. Other then that, it will be a relaxing day.

Sounds like you are going to have a relaxing day before you go back to work. That's nice. Maybe a dip in the pool if it gets warm enough.
I am so ready to come home. I've been here for 2 weeks already. Miss my house and TV channels too.
My DS is working well. I am so surprised at what I am able to eat already since my stomach was chopped.
I will be seeing Dr Guske on the 23rd for a post-op visit. I think he will be pleased.

Lucy, it sounds as if you are doing VERY well! That is great! I am so happy for you. I know you are anxious to come home and it wont be long now. Nothing like your own bed and creature comforts.
I would miss my bed the most as I have a temperapedic mattress.
For me, I still have some things to do today. I need to pay bills and do some laundry. I've been doing things gradually over the weekend and those are the 2 things left. I have taken it easy over the weekend and had a low key pace. Always nice.

Ah, bills and laundry. Sounds good to me. I will have a lot of mail to sort through when I get home and yes, I have bills to pay.
Get some rest as this is the last holiday before Thanksgiving.

I went back to bed again this morning after getting up and making Tyler pancakes before football practice. I'm awake and ready to tackle the day. Not that there really is anything to tackle today.
I will be working on more homework, finishing up my personal experience speech for Wednesday night class (I'm doing it on my surgery!) and then waiting for the call to meet my ex half way to pick up Jacob. I'm making beef and broccoli stir fry for dinner tonight and hoping it turns out okay.
I am SO glad that Lucy is doing so well and will be home soon! prayers do get answered.
Everyone enjoy your Labor Day and try to stay dry and in one place, it's been raining and very windy here~

Hi Monica. Yep, those prayers were heard. I am going great! Just came back from a long walk with my Mom.
I don't envy you having to do homework. Though, your dinner sounds yummy! But I don't think my tummy is ready for stir fry yet. LOL..

When I did so my mom told be that we were having ribs....now, I am almost to my 1 week mark on my 2 week liquid diet and I got angry with her because it was like she was rubbing it in my face. I told her several daysa ago I wasn't allowed to eat anything and although I can get over someone eating in front of me I decided to avoid the temptation. So, here I sit at home watching Kung Fu Panda with my son and enjoying my "lunch juice" (broth)
Hard to believe a week has pasted already. This week for me is fairly busy, preparing my things for surgery, a few appointments, and work. So maybe this week will fly by and I can get on with it. The supense is killing me. LOL
