Tuesday Roll Call

Good Morning IL!

Wow, that long weekend went by FAST! Chloe was up, so as always, had a great time with her. Did some shopping with her. Wanted to find her a dress for the wedding we are going to in a couple of weeks.

Thinking about redoing my landscaping so got a bid this weekend. All I can say is YIKES! Guess I'll redo in stages. Want to get another estimate, and then I'll see.

On the way back from Mahomet yesterday, I had to avoid some wood in the road and went over on the shoulder where there was a flatter piece that i had to run over. Bet (my friend) says, "oh, I hope you don't get a flat tire over that." Guess what...flatter than a pancake this AM. Bet's husband came over and changed it and then took it to Farm and Fleet where I bought it. Bad news is it can't be fixed...good news is the tire is new enough the road handler insurance I got on them will pay for the new tire. I have to pay tax and disposal fee....$10. Yeah. I'm pretty happy about THAT. I normally don't get the roadl handler, but I got such a good deal on the tires, I went ahead and got it. Glad I did, now!!

You are fortunate both to have someone get your car going and having insurance cover the cost of a new tire. Good thing too that you weren't driving when it went flat.

Oh, THanks for the comment on my pic!  I've lost around 75 lbs and feel wonderful!  My pup, Roxie, is a miniature dachshund.  Her coloring is considered red dapple.  She is reddish with some brown spots.  That pic was taken in May when I picked her up...she was 8 weeks old.  She is now 5 mos old and I call her my puppy in a dog's body.  She has grown like a weed.  Weighs almost 10 lbs, and I'm hoping she doesn't get too much bigger!  Chloe loves her and they get along wonderfully. 

I am really glad the tire didn't blow while I was driving, and instead was just flat in the garage this am!

Enjoy that San Fran weather.  At least you will be coming back to some beautiful weather here.  It certainly is getting cooler, day by day.  I like fall, but HATE what comes after it's done!

I am with you on the weather front. Autumn is beautiful but it gets nasty after that.

I love summertime... Next year, I will be at goal and stay there. YAY. I love my DS!

I am amazed at what it costs for labor on yard work.  I just had lots done in my yard.  It looks 200% better but I hated paying the bill.  Now I want to get some more plants.  Like you, I am thinking about doing the plants gradually after spending so much in bark, weed pulling and brush clearing.  

Nancy, suggestion on the plants and bushes if you are considering them. Buy them small because they cost less BUT make sure that you space them properly because they will grow and fill in the area. You might also be able to get some perennials, plants and bushes on sale at this time of year at Home Depot, Menard's or a garden center.

Hi Lucy -  I hope your appointment went well and you got the go to head on home tomorrow.  Have a safe trip and check in when you get settled.

 Good Evening Everyone!

Whew, can I turn back the clock to the weekend?  What a day.  I walked into work this morning only to discover that we could not get into our computers AT ALL!  However, they still had us taking phone calls.  It is so much fun telling customers  "I am sorry, I cant help you right now but when our system is back up and running I will call you back"   GRRR no one is satisfied.  

The system stayed down from 8 am until 10:30 this morning.  Then it was assorted odd calls the rest of the day.  Why cant we have a "normal" day?  

I am loving the weather!  This is my kind of weather.  It could stay like this year round and I would love it.  

Lucy,  I hope you had a good doctor report.  Paul, it is sometimes hard to get back in the groove after several days off.  I love Meridith's name for the fun days!  Monica it sounds like you are doing great.  Crystal, hang in there.
