Didn't he work for Fudd's before? I am going to guess that they never asked for the diploma until now, strange. The Fudd's that used to be on 53 in Addison closed about 6 months ago. I never could understand how they stayed open as long as they did. It was in a horrible location all by itself. The Fudd's in Hoffman/Schaumburg seems to always be busy when we pass by it. Location, location, location.

Apparently they did not do as thorough of a background check first time around.  They are now under new ownership and have a screening coming that does all the checks.

Hope your having a great weekend.

 Good Morning Everyone!

Christine, How delightful to see the baby squirrels.  I don't think I have ever seen any that little even though I have always had squirrel nests in the trees of my homes.  That would have been fascinating to watch.

Christina, good luck with all that packing.  Ugh not fun!  If you need some recommendations of guys I know 2 really good ones that have been doing stuff for me and I think they would be willing to drive to Warrenville.  Let me know!  He was laid off a year ago and is now free lancing with his son.

Lisa, enjoy the car show today!  Sounds like fun.   Randy and Tina, good seeing you again.  Pop in more often!  Lucy, hang in there.  You will be home soon.

No special plans for today.  I need to recover from yesterday.  Are computer system went down nationwide and we had to do everything by hand.  I spent the afternoon confirming corporate id's and prices for all of our Office Max stores across the country!  Phones were backed up!

I did come home to the most beautiful looking deck imaginable.  My two hard working guys had come back to add some more mulch and power wash the deck and they did a wonderful job on the deck.  It looks brand new!  I never have gotten it this clean before!  I think I am going to have them seal it.  I never had that done.  It is about 6 years old but in great shape, so worth protecting.

Have a great day.

Hello everyone

I had a slow start today.  Last night I had a migraine and took my new medicine.  The effect it had on me was this morning I just couldn't wake up.  I woke up at 7 then went back to sleep and woke up at 10.  I'm dragging...

Well today I am visiting my dad.  He is in the hospital.  He has COPD and his lungs are really bad.  But that's not why he is in the hospital.  He hasn't been taking his medicine.  He says he is but he isn't.  I told my sister that is normal for elderly people.  He isn't lying he really thinks he took it.  So we need to get him some help at home.  Just to make sure he is eating and taking his medicine.  He is on a waiting list for an assisted living place in Yorkville.  and of course I have to deal with my sister too when I'm there.  She is such a drama queen.  I don't mind helping with my dad...but I am not going to be her slave.  Oh I'm not even going to get into that.  I have to deal with her again today.  I will for sure have more complaing tomorrow.

Yesterday, I went out with some friends.  I had a pettie sirlion, I had 3 bites and felt so full.  Well I ended up in the bathroom and threw it all up.  I think I just ate it too fast.

I went to Kohl's and bought a pair of black shoes for work and I bought a new top.  I will need to buy a pair of black slacks and a pair of jeans and a winter coat.  Then I think I'm ready for winter.

Enjoy the wonderful cool weather.  Have a great day

Crystal, Dave and his sisters have dealt with the same thing of elderly persons not taking their meds. Their mom (86) has some meds to take for her dementia, which they call her "happy pills" and she was not taking it. Back in June she broke her hip and ever since she has been in a nursing facility where she is given her pills and it makes a big difference. Sometimes the older person thinks they take it and sometimes they get angry that they have to take meds and many times not admitting thay they need them. That is where my MIL was at as she would not admit that she had a memory problem and the anger issue with her stemmed from the kids telling her she could not drive anymore and they sold her car and she had to move to Des Moine to be near the oldest daughter. It has been horrible for Dave and his sisters, especially Dave because she has said that she wished he had never been born, many times.

 Hello Rachel

Welcome to the Illinois forum!  You have landed in a great spot.  Everyone is so friendly and supportive.  You will really like it here.  I hope you continue to join us for daily roll call.  As you can tell, we relate what is happening in our corner of the world and support each other in all areas of our lives.

You and I are almost neighbors!  There are several of us in the area.  There is Lisa in Streator, her daughter Monica (halfsis) in Bloomington,  Karen down near Peoria,  and a few others.  We are a tight knit group who welcomes newbies who join us.  We do get together several times a year for meet and greets where the families get together for a causal potluck and visit.

Hang tough on that liquid diet.  The first 3 days are the worst!  I found that sugar free popcicles and a mixture of chicken and beef broth were my good old stand bys as well as hot tea.  I think I should have invested in the popcicle company as I am still hooked on them.

Your surgery soon will be here and you will find yourself on the losers bench and starting a wonderful new life.  Congratulations!

Rachel, so happy that you came in and said hello. Like Nancy said we all strive to be a support to one another whether it is surgery related or in our personal lives. I am up in Itasca. We have others out by Rockford, Algonquin, Warrenville, North Aurora, Waukegan, Schaumburg, Chicago proper, Wheeling, Cary -  some from further downstate etc.

Monica from Bloomington just had RNY and had to do the 2 week liquid diet. She might be able to give you some pointers.
