Thursday Roll Call

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I am working today, then home.  Same ol' stuff.  This new computer is making me crazy!  I am ordering a keyboard with my own $$ because I REALLY liked my old one and it is not compatible.  My boss is just like.....get over it, the computer was expensive enough.  He thinks I should be so happy because he bought a wide screen monitor.  The resolution is whacked and everything is stretched out.  I know that things will get better as I get used to them and I change my process, but it is surely frustrating at the moment.  Good news is that he is leaving for vacation soon so we can get some rest and real work done.

Crystal, I wish you great luck on the job front.  I SO wish I could find something else.  Actually, I was talking to David last night, trying (AGAIN) to get him to understand how he needs to take advantage of the opportunities afforded him in high school.  At this point, he can be ANYthing he wants.  If he squanders these opportunities he may have to take a job that pays the bills as opposed to doing work that he enjoys.  If I had my wish, I would arrange flowers or spend my days doing something artistic.  I NEVER intended to sit behind a desk.  Oh well.....gotta help feed and house my family.

It is SO GOOD to see so many returning and new faces.  I hope this board becomes one of the most active on OH like we used to be!  Great going!

Everyone have a spectacular day!

We got new computers with wide screen monitors in April and I can remember how awful it was adapting to that monitor!  Now I love it.  It takes about a week to get used to it.  (or at least for this old dog).  I hear you on the keyboard as well.  Even changing a mouse drives me batty.  We do so much by feel and new equipment just doesn't "feel" right.  Hang in there, you will soon love it.

On a side note, who says you cant work for a florist?  Many people have entered that field by finding someone willing to train their staff in flower arranging.  Or take some courses at your community college to get experience and go for it!

I do have experience arranging flowers.  I used to work with a friend that owned her own shop.  I LOVED it!  I have tried a few times to offer my services to the lady that owns the floral/gift shop across the street from my house, but no luck there.  The problem is that I could not make the same $$ doing flowers (unless it was my own business) that I make behind a desk and those kids are EXPENSIVE!!!!   lol!

Hello OH -

I bet you guess what is on my agenda for the day!!!!!!  You got it, more packing.  I started tackling the basement yesterday and oh my.. I guess Calvin has been right all along.  I do keep way too much crap.  (Just in case)  GONE!

So, as Calvin was leaving to head back to WI yesterday, he got a phone call telling him to stay home.  He can't go back to wor****il they confirm his high school diploma!  I tore the house apart looking for the darn thing and can't find it.  I remember seeing it a few years back and thought I new where it was but of course not.  So, after he made phone calls to the records dept in MD they found it but would not talk to the screening co over the phone to confirm.  We had to go get a $3. money order, send overnight and a returned overnight  package so hopefully we will have it on Friday.  The lady is off on Friday so if she does not do what she said she was going to do....... Calvin will be off all weekend and into next week.  Oh my, how I hope we get this darn thing in the morning.  Talk about frustrating.  And then trying to work around him and his pissed off self.  Made for a fab day.  NOT!

Sooo on that note, I better get movin.  Hope everyone has a great day!

Sounds like everyone is super busy!  I had a small NSV this morning.  I was in a funk and didn't know what to wear to work, so I just grabed a pair of jeans and t-shirt and the jeans were a size 10!  I remember when a friend gave me sizes 12,10 and 8 and said they didn't fit her anymore because she lost so much weight.  I told her that I would NEVER fit into those jeans....Well, a size 10 fite very comfortable!  Next goal..size 8 by Christmas!
It got really humid out!  Thought about going for a run, but I might pass~
Take care everyone and it's nice reading what everyone is up to!
