I guess this is the month for us old timers to suck it up and face the music.  I have been MIA for most of the year.  It's been a really hard year for Calvin and I.  We opened a Quiznos in March and worked so hard.  By the end of July we were facing some really difficult decisions.  Do we continue to dump the last of our life savings into this pit and be in the same situation we are in a few months but have no money or do we get out while we have a little bit to start over.  It was a no brainer but pride sometimes gets in the way.  So, we closed the doors August 6th.  It's unfortunate but it was best.
Calvin was offered a position back with Fuddruckers as a GM at their VA Beach location.  So, with that said, we are moving in just a few weeks.
I plan on making it to support group this next week for one last hug from those that come to Dr. R's support group.
I'm a bit overwhelmed but also excited about the change.. I'm ready to be a country girl!  We found a really nice home in Camden NC which is about 15 miles from the VA line.  Calvin will have about a 42 mile commute one way which is about what he had here.  Right now, he is in WI working at one of the Fudd stores and comes home on his day off.
Sept 15 is the move day.

I promise I will not stay away as long as I did this last time.
Big Hugs to you all.

Hi Christine,
I have wondered about you. I have not heard from you in a while. Sorry to here that you and Calvin had to made some choices, but if these choices help you in the long run all I can say is good luck!  I can not make the Sept meeting, I even have to cancel my appointment. I can not take my granddaughter out of school her first week. She has a half day in a 3 yr old class and she starts school on the 8Th.
I have had a bad summer and this has caused me to give up. I fight this everyday trying to get back on track.
My best friend (my sister) passed away suddenly on June 5Th. I have to make my self function. I have good days and bad. More bad then good.
I also lost my grandma on May 24Th and an aunt in April.
Well enough bout my life. I will survive with time, as they say time heals. I do wish I could come see you! I will miss you. Good luck my friend and best wishes to you and Calvin...

Oh Karen  (((Big Hugs))) to you my friend.  I'm so sorry for the losses you have had.  I can't even imagine what you have been going thru.  You are always on my mind.  Don't give up, your loved ones are watching over you and would not want you to be unhappy.  You can do this!  Your grandbabies need you.
Hang in there sweetie.

It is so nice to see you again.  You have been thought of often!  I am so sorry the Quiznos did not work out.  Ours did not survive here either.  With the economy, eating out is one place that is so easy to cut in excess spending.

I am sorry to see you leaving Illinois, but you are moving to God's country in this Tarheel's opinion.  I love North Carolina.  I was born there and grew up there.  I think that you will really like it.  But keep in mind that just because you are living in NC you are always a member of the Illinois board so come back and post often!

Good luck in your move and your new location.  Keep in touch and let us know what is going on in your world.

Hi Nancy -
Good to see your bubbly self.  I saw your post that your knees are doing well.  What fantastic news.  I'm so happy for you.  I'll be honest with you...... I'm really looking forward to NC.  Our plan has always been to retire to NC but not exactly in this order but that's ok.

I will keep in touch.  Take care of you!

Hey girl!  I have missed you, though I haven't been around much either.  Now I am back to stay though, as I really need to support.
I'm sorry to hear about the Quizno's and even more sad to see you leaving IL, but I do understand that everyone has to do what they need to do, in order to survive these tough times.  I will miss you, even though we didn't see each other often.
Of course we will still expect you to post here on the IL board and keep us updated on your new life in NC.
Love ya

Monica
