Morning and good day all!

Not much here again today. At least I get out of the office for a while for a meeting in Naperville. I think that I might suggest to Dave to drive with me and he can walk in downtown Naperville while I am at the meeting.

Good Morning,

I have a few stops to make today. Nothing really important, but necessities.  I will also get the bed changed and probably the bedroom picked up.

All of Streator schools are back in session today. It will seem quiet around here.

Monica is doing good. She is getting  a few little walks in, as well as her water. Today she starts on full liquids.

Have a great day, stay safe and hydrated.

Huggers,
LISA

Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!

I am feeling much better about the human race today.  I hope it is really true......
Last night, I was putting the meat into the "new" freezer.  I now realize that it does NOT seal, period.  If you close it and push that corner shut it seals.....for about 30-60 seconds!  I was SOOOO frustrated.  Todd said there was nothing we could do and to just chalk it up to experience.  Well......I could not get over how betrayed I felt and decided to call the guy.  I got his voice mail and left a message (polite) about how betrayed I felt, how I thought he was a nice guy and how I hoped he was enjoying my $$$$.  It made me feel better to let it out.

Guess what??????  He called back about an hour later and apologized.  He said that he bought it 3 years ago from a food service company that told him it was new.  He only used it for  a few months, then cancelled the food service and unplugged the unit.  He told me that I can go over there this afternoon and get ALL my $$ back!!!!  He does not even want the freezer returned as it is "too much of a hassle to transport it" and it isn't worth much of anything anyway.  He says that he feels real bad and that he IS a nice guy.  He thought we had made a great deal and he is sorry.  WOW!!!!  I won't know for sure until this afternoon, but if her really gives me a refund, I can continue to believe that there ARE good people left in the world!!!!

So, I am happier today than I was yesterday.  After work, I am picking up the grandkids so they can stay overnight and we are ALL going to the fair tomorrow.  That should be interesting and fun.

Everyone have a lovely day!

Dawn, is it possibly a matter of needing a new gasket on the door or do you think that the door is warped and that is why it is not closing properly?

If he really gives me my money back, I will buy the gasket and see if it will work.  if not, the box is junk and I will call Com-Ed to come and haul it away.

Either way, I will still be on the lookout for a GOOD freezer that I do not have to defrost.

Girlfriend I praying that you can find what you need. I know what you mean about defrosting. Ours is not frost free but if we keep up with it it is not too much of a chore. Of course we have 2 less people going in and out of ours.

Good Morning Christine and Illinois Buddies,

I'm popping on the board from work really quickly.

Lisa,  we had a wonderful time at the meet and greet.  Thank you for your hospitality.  Emily loved the pool.  Please tell Hubert that Emily said, "His grandchildren are really lucky, 'cause he is a lot of fun."     I'm so glad to hear Monica is already home and doing well.  Please give her a hug for me and tell her I'm thinking about her.

It was so nice to see many of you. It sure helps my motivation and mood to talk to others who are going through the same struggles I always have.

Paul and Lucy, welcome back! Lucy, I'll be sending lots of prayers your way.  Congratulations on figuring out a way to get the DS.  I'm envious!

I'm on the 2nd shift of three in a row.  I sure couldn't have done this a year ago.  I'm going to get on my soapbox for a minute, and give you my unsolicited opinion about something.  Please don't be offended..........

HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH YOUR LOVED ONES REGARDING END OF LIFE WISHES/DECISION MAKING.  It's hard to think about, but if anything happens to you, your family needs to know if you want to be kept alive indefinately if you have no chance for either meaningful physical or neurologic recovery.    We have so many patients right now who are suffering terribly whose families simply can't bring themselves to make a decision about withdrawing care.   They lay here in intensive care for weeks, slowly getting more infections, more complications until even all the machines in the world can't sustain them.   It just breaks our nurses' hearts to see the pain we put people through even after we know that the interventions are futile.

Whew, thanks in advance for letting me vent!  Back to the grind now.

Stephanie

Stephanie, We really enjoyed having everyone here on Saturday, I will tell Hubert what Emily said. He did say that she is like a fish in water.

You are so right about getting on your soapbox. I totally agree with you. You can have a living will filled out so that the family and your hospital, know your wishes. Both Hubert and I have a directive that states no extra extrordinary measures, This also takes the guilt off of the family that has to make this desison.
