Morning and good day all!

My training yesterday was so packed with information in 4 hours time that my head was spinning when I got home. The drive home was horrible also. I do not know how people do that on a daily basis. It took me over an hour to get home from Wheeling.

Got a fair amount of work on my desk to take care of then hopefully I can get out and see what my garden is doing. The village sprayed on Tuesday and the skeeters seem better.

Good Morning,

For everyone coming to the meet and greet on Sat. If this heat continues, or it rains (like the forcast is saying), we will be moving this get together indoors.

I see we are under a heat advisory starting at 11 this morning, continuing until 7p.m. Friday.

I have errands to run this morning, then home to the A.C.

Have a great day, stay safe and hydrated. Carry those water bottles with you!

Huggers,
LISA

Hello everyone

Well it's Thursday!!!!  I can't wait till tomorrow.

I am eating oatmeal for the first time since I was a kid.  It's ok, I'm not big into breakfast cereals.  Oatmeal is good for your cholesterol...so I hope my heart appreciates me eating this stuff.

Tonight I'm going to the movies with friends.  I had an idea yesterday that I wanted try with my work friends and they seem excited about it.  I suggested that this fall we go to a murder mystery dinner!!!  That sounds like fun to me.

Well stay cool today...I am I have my jacket on already.

Hey Crystal!

Good to see you are eating for your heart.  Have you tried steel cut oatmeal?  I REALLY love it, WAY more than regular.  It is more nutty and chewy in texture.  I make a pot of it and (thanks to Paul) freeze it in snack size zip-locks to take to work for a quick breakfast.  My favorite way to have it is with fresh berries and some greek yogurt.  YUMMY!!!!!

I just found a recipe for a wheat berry breakfast cereal.  I will post it as an ROD.  It sounds yummy and different.  It looks like something I would make on the weekend and again, freeze in portions for and easy breakfast.

The murder mystery dinner?  Are you talking LIVE?  If so, and if you are interested in coming out this way, our playhouse is having a fundraiser in October.  I will send you the "event" on Facebook.  If anyone else is interested, let me know.....

You are doing great, keep it up!

Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!

I am working and pretty warm.  It was so warm in my house last night that I got up at 2:30 am and turned down the AC a few degrees so that I could sleep.  I was literally sweating, just laying there.  My house is very old and the AC has trouble making it up the stairs.

THEN-----just as I was really getting back to sleep---the smoke alarm started going off!!!!  Todd got up, pulled the battery and checked on the kids.  Then he came back to bed!  I made him go check out the whole house---silly guy, I think he was half a sleep!  I asked him if he thought it was an "escaped kids alarm"!  ;-)  No fire or smoke anywhere.....but it still took a while to get back to sleep.  The alarm must need a good vacuuming.  It did that once before.

So, today, I am a bit tired, but will live.  David has his last family night at camp tonight with an AC Appreciation/Ice Cream Social.  Todd is going to attend tonight since he has missed most of the family nights.  I will go home and see what Olivia has been up to.  I'm thinking of making Pad Thai for dinner.

Everyone have a splendid day and stay cool!

Hello Everyone!

Like everyone else on here, my mission is to stay cool.  I am so ready for hot weather to be done.  I feel sorry for the outdoor cats because they look just plain miserable.  I gave them more cool water tonight.

Made it through another day of work.  We are not overly busy but the calls are difficult.  Weird stuff is occurring and I am spending a lot of time fixing mistakes of newly hired employees.  I just keep trying to remind myself that I was new once.  One of them today was a real doozy!  It took my supervisor and I over a half hour to figure out just what was done before we could address the problem.  Ugh!  Sometimes I just scratch my head trying to figure out how something that went wrong could have even happened.

I am so glad it is Friday tomorrow.  I am ready for it.  I hope everyone has a great evening and I look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday!
