Randy: Just remember, all we are saying is give peas a chance.

Well, I am actually posting here in the morning! By the end of the day when I actually get on the Illinois forum, I feel I am too late to post for the daily thread. My day has flown by and recapping it just seems redundant.

Another day today in the trenches of parenting. My older son (7) is having a sleepover here tonight. My younger son (4) will be a nuisance, naturally. But there WILL be yummy, buttery popcorn, so life is good.

I have to say this about my weight loss. We have kids over here several times a week and I volunteer in my kids' classrooms. I am glad my kids and their friends know me more as a thinner person. I would hate for my kids to be teased about my off-the-charts weight, behind my back. Oh sure, the kids will STILL find reasons to tease my kids about me (I am a goofball, overprotective, etc.) but I'd rather it not be about my weight. It is very freeing to just have kids over and not think about that.

I am still on the mend from my TT and arms. Healing just fine. My ab muscles are still tight and a bit sore, but coming along nicely. New pics will appear in a few days when I hit my 6-week mark. You just can't fix the skin, unfortunately. Stretch marks that did not get removed are still there...shocking, I know. I am still darn grateful, though! Nice to have that 5+ pounds off of my body!

Have a good day everyone! Enjoy the weather.

Hello everyone

Well I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday...I know I am.  I am having a lazy Saturday morning.  I will have to get off my butt at some time and start cleaning and doing laundry.  But for now I will be lazy.

Yesterday I received some upsetting news.  My blood tests came back and my cholesterol is at 277!!!  I can't believe it.  I thought for sure it would be lower...not higher.  I have lost weight since my last blood test and I'm more active.  So I don't understand why my cholesterol would go up!!!!  The only thing I can think of is that maybe I eat too many eggs and too much cheese.  I don't know what to eat or what to do to lower my cholesterol.  I just can't believe it went up.  All my other tests came back perfect...even my good cholesterol is good.

On my way home from the doctor yesterday I stopped in an apartment complex.  I have been thinking about moving a lot lately.  I want a patio and I want to go where they allow pets.  Well this place was sooooo nice.  I fell in love with it immediately... but I can't afford it.  Booho.  It is $1100 a month.  A bit of sticker shock for me.

Everyone have a wonderful day

Been up for hours. We had our guest and three other South African guests over for breakfast. Three of them are on their way to Orlando via Cleveland, OH. The first leg is via car and then they fly to Orlando.

Emma is going to be treated to rehearsal at church and then we need to leave that early and take her to the airport.

Randy, this is sort of the incorrect time to grow peas. They need to be planted at the last 2 weeks of April as they are a cold weather crop.

Farmer Randy has to say he is anything but.  I was an officer of the FFA for the entire Houston/Galveston/Brazoria county area but enjoyed the livestock much better than the plants.  I was on the soil team and the grass team that went to state so I should understand some of this.  My allergies I guess always had the plants at a disadvantage for my affections.  I always loved the tilling, planting, feeding and watering but the hoeing and havesting made me itch like crazy.  Did not know I had those allergies until I was thirty.

The peas have finally put on one bloom so I suspect we will see more.  I know in Texas we never planted peas before March and perhaps also we planted again in the fall but that is a completely different climate and perhaps also we were growing different varieties as we would grow at least a dozen types.  Peas, greens and cornbread were a regular meal.

I cleaned trash out of the green room Friday.
