Grumpy Pouch
Today my pouch doesn't want to eat ANYTHING. Even the good ol' "stand-by" that I normally love like cottage cheese. There is NO pain, no dumping or vomiting...Just the feeling of "Ugh, I don't want to eat ANYTHING" and nausea if I do eat anything other than liquid. Everything else is normal in every other way.
Water and diluted or SF juice goes down fine. I choked down a protein shake (Wasn't "great" feeling but I did it.).
Here is a little secret...Ever since I had the surgery in June, I was always hungry or had room for more. I measured everything carefully (and still do) but I would still feel hungry afterwords. Never any "pouch problems". I am still eating soft foods, some puree and some regular foods (that are soft such as turkey meatloaf w/ cheese). Normally I am taking in around 600-900 calories a day with 90 grams of protein and less than 60grams carbs total.
I figured today my pouch just wants to be a pain in the butt and do the "I'm not hungry". I have read that most people have this. (Some times for a day or two) usually "early out".
I am kinda happy I am FINALLY having a day I am NOT hungry physically or mentally.
I figure as long as I get my 64oz of liquid and 2-3 protein shakes and my vitamin supplements, the pouch can have a day or two off...I am sure the hunger will be back in a day or two.
Anyone else pouch on "strike" due to this heat? (It is 103 here today!)
Warmly,
Jackie
