I was required to attend one meeting with the dietician. I think it was around  $70. The packet is for your health and information that the doctors need and want. Fill it out and do whatever it saids to return it.

good Luck

More than likely only one visit. It is for your benefit to go and speak with the dietician to see if you have any issues with food that needs addressing. Any doctor worth their salt will require you to attend an appointment. I would be willing to say that Medicaid will require you to attend the appointment also. You might want to see if you can contact some of the doctor's other patients. Here is the link to his page here on OH, click on the Reviews tab. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+r eviews+Uretz+Oliphant+gdm.html

You might also want to check the thread titled "It's been a while" from a few days back http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/IL/4211302/Its-been-a-whil e/ Lori has the same doctor as you and she might be able to assist you with your questions.

Stop into the daily roll call if you get a chance. It is a great place to connect with other members.

Hi Trina, I want you to know that the Dietician (Nutritionist) is very important. Post op you will no longer be able to make the same bad food choices you likely make now and you will need good nutrition to fuel your body. We are all here for the same reason and you must take Bariatric Surgery very seriously. I had the most liberal surgery when it comes to changing food habits and I have to tell you at this stage of the game I dont put anything in my body that does not have nutritional value. I had my surgery at St Francis in Peoria and I had to pay out of pocket  375.00 for the program fee and 213.00 for the Psych Eval. This money wasnt necessarily in my budget but I found a way to come up with it in a week by reducing costs elsewhere. I downgraded my cable package, my phone package etc...... Medicaid will most likely make you see a NUT and for good reason. Getting the surgery is the easy part, changing a lifetime of bad eating habits is very difficult.
