Hello everyone

I'm at work right now.  The drive here was a pain.  All the streets have areas of flooding so you had to be careful because you don't want to hit one of those huge puddles going 50mph.  So I had to slow down a bit.  Even with an umbrella and jacket I still got soaking wet.  I'm wet from the waist down.  Now I'm sitting at work with no shoes on (they are soaked) and wet pants in the AC...BRRRRRR

I guess I was not thinking this morning because I left for work without breakfast or my cell phone.  I feel naked without my cell phone and I fell hungry without my breakfast...hahahah.

My weekend doesn't include any fun plans.  Aftter work today I have a few errands to run and I made an appointment for a mani and pedi.  So those are my big plans for the day.  Then it's relaxing the rest of the day.  I will be looking forward to that.

Well have a nice dry weekend.

Good Morning.

I am sitting here at the desk, cleaning it off, and paying bills ect.My plan this morning is to clean house. Then go to the store and do some shopping. Maybe hit the pool later.

Crystal, I know how mush you cherish your free days, at least you do have some me time later today.

I am hoping this next week won't be as busy as this past week was. This body isnot  used to 10 hour work days. Yesterday a client asked me if we would stay  until 5 because she worked until then, and would be there by 5:30! Excuse me, what part of we lock our doors  at 3 don't you understand.

Have a great weekend, stay hydrated.

Huggers,
LISA

We have had over 6" of rain and we are surrounded by water. We could not even get down the street if we wanted to as the water is half way up the driveway. I feel bad for my neighbors across the street as the water is up to their house. When that happens they ge****er in their basement. It seems that the village idiots (public works) turned off the valve on the corner before we could drain the water and yeap we still have Lake Bennett!

We were supposed to serve food to the stage team this evening but that might not happen if we cannot get out of the driveway.

Wow Christine. I knew Crystal got a heavy rain, but didn't know that you and Dave did too. All we got was a sprinkle, and a sprinkle now. Hope you dry out.

Since midnight our one rain gage says we have had over 3" and since it started last night we have had over 7" now. It is receeding. I have been taking pictures. Also in the front on the grass is all the yucky twigs and dead leaves that are telling the tale of if the water is receeding or not and it is going down.

I was actually thinking about you too.  But I was thinking how lucky you were to have every thing fixed for this big storm....But I guess that's not the case.  Sorry

Crystal, our extra drains in the easement and in our yard helped emensely. The back yard is almos****er free. The reason it flooded back there was because of the massive amount of rain and the drains go to the storm sewer on our corner. The village shut off our valve (on the corner where we are flooded) to pump all that out so that is why it pooled in our yard. So, for the most part we are happy that we put in the extra drain. Our neighbors who opted out of the extra drains are still flooded.

So yesterday Hubby and son and I go to Joe's Crab Shack (So I could have a few delicious steamed crab legs).
We got into a booth that just two months ago I would NOT have fit in! Today not only did I fit, but had like 6 inches + to spare in front of me! I was so happy that I yelled "Woo Hoo!!!!" out loud like a nutty woman...Hubby and son laughed with me and got my "WOW moment" right away especially as I kept making two hands go in front of me and the table! LOL!

Second WOW was how nice "real" food tasted again! I ordered the steamed crab legs, had maybe 3 whole crab legs, bought the rest home...Took them out of the shell, mixed it with a bit of low fat mayo, dill, fresh cracked pepper and a squirt of lemon juice....What a YUMMY crab salad! I am so happy I have had this surgery!

The third WOW was my weight today. Down another 2 lbs for a grand total of 36 lbs lost since June 29th. Sure other people have more, but I prefer the slower method. I didn't have as much to lose as some people, and slower kind of allows my skin to "catch" up with the rest of me. I just know the Renaissance Faire next month is going to be great. AND they serve a lot of protein foods and meat there!
Have a GREAT weekend everyone
Warmly,
Jackie

Jackie, we were at the Joes on Ludwig a couple of months ago. We shared a bucket and still brought stuff back to our hotel room. Great place for seafood. You might want to try Houlihans also. They have a small bite menu that is fab.

Hello Everyone!

We too have had lots of rain.  The storms yesterday were nasty.  We had really high winds and were in the dark for over an hour.  Glad it was not longer.  We had more heavy rain this morning so I did the thing I love to do on dark stormy days -- I slept    Stayed in bed and pulled the covers over my head.  LOL  I wasn't going any place in another thunderstorm.  The Illinois River is predicted to flood by Monday.  At least my grass and plants got some much needed water.  The temps are cooler but the humidity has not gone away yet.

Crystal, I am sorry you got drenched.  Christina, what a predicament, flooded in your own home.  That used to happen in the town I used to live in.  What a pain.  In that case we could not leave town and it was a rural area that was dependent on all food, newspapers, and goods and services needing to be transported in.  It was fun trying to buy staples a week or two after the floods started.  None existed.  No milk, bread, fresh veggies etc.  I hated it.  Really felt cut off.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!
